SRH cancled my appointment

Im so upset after waiting 7 months for my appointment and 3 days after they comfirmd it was 21st feb they just called and canceld untill further notice :cry:

So sorry to hear about your cancelled appts, really dis-heartening isn't it? All I can suggest it get on the phone, demand to know why it's been cancelled (for the third time in Kellie's case) & harass them for a new appt xxxx

I think you've hit the nail on the head there Louise.....I know it's really hard & at the moment all you can think about is WLS, but you just can't put your life on hold, you have to try & live it best you can while you are waiting. I do understand believe me, we've all been there...and I know you are thinking: 'Easy for you to say, you've had your surgery'! But I know many of us have been through exactly the same. Unfortunately, some provider's couldn't organise a p***-up in a brewery...they are under-staffed, under-resourced & at breaking point & this can reflect in the bumpy progress in getting appts, cancellations, long waits etc. Chase things up to keep things moving but you have to live your life while you are doing it. Keep with it, you will get there eventually xxxx

I have had mine re-scheduled numerous times for various reasons. It can seem frustrating at times but when I look back now in some ways I am glad as I was not ready. However fingers crossed op will go ahead on Monday.

This realy is unacceptable,
I am not sure if they realise the affect that these cancellations have on people..the very people that they are trying to help. The promise of a new - future appointment is of little consolation when mentally you are prepared for and have waited so long for your dates.
I realise that these people have lives too and extremely busy ones at that, but, a great number of of their patients do not and we are waiting to begin our lives.

Aw Im so sorry for you both, I wish there was something I could say to make you feel better! I know how hard the waiting is, I never thought my surgery would happen and it consumes you until you are on the table and its all done! All you can do is try and carry on with life as normal in the meantime and focus on the positives....you will get the surgery and you will be on that Loosers bench (HUG) XX

i dont understand, they have taken on a fourth surgeon so you would think it would reduce waiting times, and canecellations, can i ask what bit of the journey your on girls?.... is this your first appointments?..... im with srh, im very ( selfishly it'll seem i know is my biggest biggest fear)

im hoping there ll be giving you positive answers on monday xx

I have to agree with you whole-heartedly Angie. I too went through the admin nightmare which is SRH, pre-op. I made a right nuisance of myself with phone calls, but I also tried to put everything to the back of my mind and just get on with life whilst I was waiting. You really have to in order to keep your sanity. Post-op life tends to put it into perspective. The waiting is awful, but you have to realise that post-op life has its ups and downs too!
