The Banders Saturday Weigh In

Back to 15.5 now. Few! Lost my Christmas 2lb weight & back on track. Shame it's not a big loss but I would have kept my Christmas weight on and more of I hadn't had my band.

2lb off this week - lost the 1.5lb christmas gain plus another .5lb - thank goodness. Getting a fill this week too x

Well done pixie x

all my xmas gain gone ... back down from 10st5 to 10st

oh i dont think i can claim the credit for being extra extra careful. sure part of its down to the monthly fluctuations LOL
As a maintainer, I now eat more than a lot of you guys/gals do, and my metabolism has definitely improved, so that weight has dropped off in a week on between 1500 and 1600 calories a day (focussing on protein first, veggies and then carbs). And the odd treat too.... I fill in a food diary (probably about 50% of the time now so am less obsessed with tracking than I was at the beginning, and am always honest about what I put in my mouth - no point trying to con myself or anyone else) I try to follow an approach that I will be able to follow for the rest of my life. The few days I do track, just means I am rechecking what I am doing on those days/weeks I choose not to measure/log. It keeps me focussed but relaxed

I honestly can't wait until I'm actually maintaining an ideal weight. You will definitely be the one I come to for advice! I'd say of it ever happens but I didn't think I'd be the weight I am by now! Did you have to have a de fill?

pixie ... you will get there ... and when you do, I hope you feel as happy as I do. You have lost your christmas gain which is fantastic but I hope you enjoyed everything you did to get the gain. If you are going to gain, at least really enjoy what you have ... and then refocus and move on x

strange as it may seem, rather than have a defill ~ I actually had a fill

i had always counted calories and protein from the start, and had a level of restriction whereby i felt it at certain times (for just about 7-10 days) of the month at an ideal level, and then nothing at other times. but thats the way i wanted it for sure, especially when hearing about other peoples problems with over-restriction. i preferred to rely on using my will power/calorie counting/new habits at the times i felt no restriction. that is why my calorie intake has never been really low (like 7-800 calories) ... after over a year of learning new/better/healthier habits including judging portion sizes/calorie intake, i wanted to become less obsessed with weighing/tracking my food, and my last fill of 1/4 mil in december (previous fill was in april) has helped me achieve that. i was losing weight best on c 1100-1200 calories a day and now feel satisfied (but not overfull) on my 1500-1600 calories a day. i am pretty good now at estimating the right amount of the right types of food to have on my plate, to give me what i need nutritionally, as well as maintain.

People keep making comments about not wanting to see me lose any more weight ... but when they see what i have on my plate it keeps them quiet. i eat what i want (including things with fat/carbs in) just in reasonable sized portions in the right overall balance/proportions....:)

So glad I'm still on the site, you have all been so helpful & encouraging. I'm having my 4th fill tomorrow :) I'm now 15.2 so I've lost 2.5 lbs this week. I'm happy with that :) I started at 17.13.5 on 6th sept and the weight is definitely going in the right direction! This thread is great for giving me something to be accountable with.
