The last three stone

I'm a size 14 and not waiting for the 12 but if it happens then awesome! So regarding coats- I was also anti puffy ones however I need a hood in this country and I need the warmth of a down filled coat.. My new coat is a puffy parka type but its not as casual- will have to take a pic! Also it's not black which is a miracle in itself!!

Puffy ones

I suppose we all have a phobia about puffy coats as they make you look fatter than you are and in our pre-op/slimmer days we could do without that lol.

Puffy jackets = michilan man while fur coats = Teddy bear
Both to be avoided like the plague in my book :p

Found my old but hardly worn waterproof tog24 jacket in the back of the spare wardrobe last night. It barely fitted 15 yrs ago when I was a 24. It's big on me but I can live with it for now :)

I'm not a fan of fur, it's a bit eastenders!

All this chatting about coats made me browse through my coat closet even if the season is still warm here in Italy.
I discovered that most of my coats (years and years of coats in the closet, various sizes depending on the year of purchase, mostly worn for only one season) only need minor adjustments from the seamstress.
Me happy!

P.S.: Seamstress happy too...takes 40/60euros per coat to adjust the size. lol

My new size 8 coat arrived yesterday. I was totally with you longing for a size 12. Bought almost a new wardrobe to celebrate when I got there. Now it will be passed to my 15 year old daughter, who is gutted that her mum wears smaller clothes than her. But she quite likes the fact and I love being able to wear nice, fashionable clothes and designers who I used to only dream about!

Hahaha I'm lucky it's my mums a seamstress :p.....I've not been this size since the late eighties and in my twenties :D only one thing exists from that time, a little black, boned dress number that I have just got back into. I'm taking it on the cruise with me to wear one last time :) and that's it ... Well and truly Good bye to the old me :D. My mother successfully took in both of the dresses I bought for our daughters wedding. The one I bought from USA that I thought would be impossible to take in she did beautifully but it doesn't suit me now!? I feel so guilty that I'm not "in love with it" any more after all the hard work she put into it but I will take it to the cruise with me anyway.

You are both so inspirational at size 8 & 12. To me they are the impossible dream as I have never ever been there. Size 14 is the smallest I have ever been albeit briefly. You are both amazing!

Fem I totally understand that feeling! I had some nice dresses from my bro in laws wedding and wanted to donate them to charity and my mother in law said no way as she paid £150 each for them. Took to dressmaker and I had to pay £50 for alteration and now I don't like them on me at all and won't wear anymore! It's all very nice to take in a couple of inches but I think I've learnt the hard way that going from 22 to a 14 means buying all new clothes! My hubby was cleverer than me and forsaw this and started putting money aside for my shopping weeks before my op!

While out shopping on Sunday I discovered that my taste in clothes has changed dramatically. We are so lucky in that our hubbies have foresight on this as mine also has a little nest egg that he has put aside for the end of my journey (he won't tell me how much) problem is he would have me buying that wardrobe now as he has great difficulty in comprehending how quickly things could change . Mind you he had an eye opening weekend as he needed to go get clothes too since losing over a stone in weight. His size 38s were hanging on him and some of last years holiday clothes wouldn't even stay up!.. He is now back into 34s :). It was nice to see his face light up when his shorts fell down :rotflmao: but all in all it's been an expensive year all round for clothes lol

that is very encouraging. Hope I can get there, too. Well done.

I am NOT a size 12. Barely a size 14.

Hey don't knock being a 'barely' size 14, that's a great achievement!! I'd love to be a size 14.

We've all come a long way in our battles with weight so in my opinion any reduction in clothes sizes is to be celebrated ladies.

I'm not knocking it but when you get there you'll realise it's not enough. Not for me anyway.

I think I'm far too tall and big boned to ever be a size 14 but maybe I'm wrong. Time will likely tell.
I hope you achieve your dreams Victoria.
