The Raw Truth from the start

Ooh I'm not sure, I don't think it would come off itself, but you could pull the scab off if you pull it off, I took mine off the next day when I had my shower and left them uncovered I saw my nurse about the biggest one and even thought was a bit dodgy she said to leave it uncovered. Could you perhaps pull it off when you are in the shower? Ouch.

Are you going to your nurse to have your staples removed? (that's if you had staples)!

If mimis was the same as mine it's glued. And very very very hard not to pick at the glue! You know when you used to get glue on your hand at school, let it dry then peel it off? It's like that!

Iv got some more coverings from the doctor I work for so later I'm going to try changing them.
Went back to work today for a few hrs feel ok.

Well for the past two evenings my tummy doesn't like eating after 6 pm.
I may have to change round my lunch and dinner.
I get really bad wind after tea so tomorrow I'm going to have a bit more at lunch and just a milky coffee for tea .

Jo you look amazing and your arms look great I hope mine go back to the way nature intended like yours.Well done you must of worked very hard.

So glad to hear you are feeling better Mimi :)

Had my stew yummy yummy yummy.
So glad its just windy feeling now at least I can take something for that.
Bella band any news ?

Thanks Mimi I am 2 days post op now. The Hospital group was fantastic. I have been a very, very lucky girl and had no gas pain at all. Just feel like I have had a good kick to the ribs. Tender but managable. I am doing great thanks for asking, that was so sweet of you :)

Jo its working.
Bella u r soooo lucky not to have the wind so glad your doing well aswell we're have to spur eachother on.
My wounds look good got the dressings off.
All scaby and itching which is a good sign.
Still get wind when I drink water, which means I don't drink enough because I don't like the wind.
But I'm getting stronger by the day ,so tomorrow I'm going to do a bit of walking on my treadmill .

Hey Mimi, Oh I know I am, very lucky. After reading your and others experience of it I am very grateful it was not an added element I had to deal with.
This morning I am feeling really weird though. Like a ball stuck in my throat. I have not had anything to drink yet and am wondering if you experienced this 3 or 4 days out? If it is a normal part of recovery? Also I had a tin of tomatoe soup last night and was fine when I was eating it but afterwards felt so bloated like I had eaten 4 tins :(? What is up with that?
I did not drink an awful lot of water yesterday and I see you say you have wind because you are not drinking enough, perhaps I should drink more?
It is so lovely and reasuring to hear you feel you are getting stronger by the day, enough so that you feel well enough to go on your treadmill.
I feel like I should be moving around more but I am really tired and the wounds still feel like I have had a beating so bending down etc is still a no go area.
Are you getting fed up with liquids yet? I know I am. :( But I keep telling myself it is only for a short period its not like it's forever so I just deal with it, never the less....eww!

Hi Bella.
Don't do to much just let yourself heal.
I think u may of eaten to much last night a whole tin of soup sounds a lot ,iv been eating 100g of soup every two hrs and trying to drink inbetween .
But iv already got 4mls in my 10ml band.

Wow you already have 4ml in a 10ml band! I have a 14ml band and its empty....I kind of feel like I have to get a 4ml fill before I am even on the starting block of restriction, if you know what I mean? But flutterby has a 14ml band and she told me she had a 7ml put in on her first fill. So perhaps I will get a big fill on the first time? Who knows...But wow you must have some restriction already? Yeah I don't think I will be eating a whole tin again...Did'nt even enjoy it.

Yeah all the time worse at tea time.

I have just gone and found a 6ml scanner and u would not believe how small the hole is no wonder I have trouble eating it is tiny tiny tiny.

Is about the size of your little finger nail.

Hi bella, you will soon feel better, I was the same as you, knew I should be moving around more but the pain of getting up the first couple of days put me off. Also my partner was away so I was on my own so probably overdid it a bit the first couple of days. I had no problems with the fluids going down and have never felt this ball in your throat that everyone keeps describes :-( not looking forward to that. I'm four weeks out today, managed one of those frozen jacket potatoes and an omelette no problem. So I'm looking forward to my fill to stop me eating too much. Although that said I'm around 1000 calories a day so worried the restriction will make me eat less than 1000 calories and I will stall again, when I was eating about eight hundred a day I wasn't losing weight, now I'm eating a bit more it's starting to slowly come off x

Spanner lol
