The Raw Truth from the start

Predictive text is a ******* sometimes.lol

ha ha, im so glad someone asked what a 6ml scanner was!! But spanner makes much more sense... lol
Glad your starting to feel better mimi - its brill following these diaries so I know what to expect in August!! :)

Just did 10mins walking on treadmill feel ok will do another 10mins later.

How long does it take for the swelling inside to go down and u don't feel so blotted all the time.

For me it was about eight or nine days, ten days later I felt really good. But bear in mind you have some restriction which I don't so your tummy may be a little more sore than mine anyway x

@Mimi wow that is how small 6ml is? No wonder it says no bread, no pasta, no rice...! But nice to hear you gone on well with the treadmill. Have you taken your plasters off yet? I have had a peak but don't remember when they said to leave them on till? :)

Thanks Lola, I doubt I am getting 500 calories down. I do not do well with milk and don't tolerate yogurt too well. I can have the odd one and I am fine but when its literally all you can eat I am getting IBS pains. So I am living off water and Tesco goodness sugar free ice lollies. I can manage a little soup but I know I am not getting enough fluid in. And I cannot face chewing a vitamin tab!
I know it has only been 4 days since my op, and I am not trying to rush my recovery but I open the fridge door, go ''ehhh'' and shut it again. I bought slimfast coffee and chocolate but I have not had one since I came home, the thought of drinking it makes me feel queezy!
Apart from soup, yogurt and shakes, does anyone have any ideas of what else we can eat? Anything imaginative? :) Thanks!

What about smoothies? You can get them in tubes.....or custard with milk added to make more liquid?

Sent from my iPad using WLSurgery

Thanks Jo, I could try smoothies. They are not something I ever ate pre op but I can certainly give them a go. I do like custard and think I will buy some low fat ones.
Jo you have done great and would love to know at the begining how long did it take you to adjust?
Does everyone go 14 days on this fluid diet or did some of you go to mushies a little sooner?
Thanks :)

Hi bella, try chubes or froobs frozen. It's dairy but is lovely when frozen. I felt like everything I had was sweet as I went right off soup. Was sick of sweet stuff. We need to stick to the fourteen days I'm afraid unless our advisor tells us differently as it is giving the stomach time to heal from the inside without having to digest sloppy food. That said I went on to the next phase a day early as I was working away and frightened of eating in a hotel in case I was sick. But I was fine. Me and mimi are having the bassets everyday health chewy vitamin for the whole family and they are lush. Not powdery chewy. More like haribo chewy. I look forward to mine! It's like a little treat! :) x

Also, if you have a blender you can put ice in try making your slimfast like that with a few handfuls of ice in, it makes it like a posh smoothie from costa. Yum. X

I took my dressings off after a week,I really wanted them to have time to heal and I'm glad I left them till then cause they look really good.
I had lamb stew a free days ago blended really well and it was yummy .I also do smash with tomato soup runny and smash with korma sauce runny.
Smash with primula for protein.semolina with milk to make it runny.weetabix again runny.blend some baked beans with smash runny.u can add anything in smash.I no its not that nourishing but it does vary.

@Lola and @Mimi thanks ladies great advice as usual. I am sure I will feel better in a few days. I think I am just having post surgery blues :( Bit weepy today too....

We had a big arguement in our house on Sunday over smash! I told my goddaughter her mum only did smash because it's lazy and she told her :-o that was awkward! Ha ha. But true. I'm not keen on smash but the buttery one is nice x

Bella I got a bit down about day 3/4 even thought why did I do this but I feel better now .

I've pretty much been in the zone from day 1, so even when I wasn't topped up I was curbing my volume and ensuring I ate healthy. So in essence on a diet :) think I did a week on liquids after op but could be wrong. Trust me, once you get to your solids stage that's when you can start looking forward to meals again. Just for now grit your teeth n stick with it!! prob best not write much more as I've iPhone in one hand and vino in the other to celebrate today! But on that note I've had alcohol 3 times in 9 months, and they're the 3 weeks I stayed the same, so if you want to blast this, it may be something you need to think about as it killed any loss I had planned for those weeks. Xx
