The Raw Truth from the start

Not so good bella stayed the same for so long getting really down ,having another fill in April.hopefully make a difference .how you doing.

No idea, gave up weighing myself long ago. The band to me was a waste of time and money, have little to no interest in it. I think I am week 37 now and am just eating a normal diet with an empty band, I had it defilled about 9 weeks ago and probably do not think I will ever get it filled again in the future, but.... never say never I may or I may not, I doubt it but I could perhaps want to give it a go again. I will leave my options open.
I think I realised when I had to do all the exact same things to loose weight with the band as I did without I realised what was the point? I was told I would feel fuller longer and eat smaller portions. Well I did eat smaller portions because restriction was horrific, I could not even get a boiled egg mashed up down and all the time the hunger was terrible but was never able to statisfy that hunger, so as far as I am concerned the band does not do what I was told it would.
I can eat less and excercise, drink water etc all on my own without the band filled, having it filled left me with terrible heart pains, crippling sometimes and I thought this is not living being in pain, being frightened to eat, how is that helpful?
So now when I am hungry I can satisfy that hunger and not have to worry about pains in my rib cage and chest pains in my heart and feeling like I am going to vomit when I actually get something down.
I am thrilled for all the women who have found the band to be the answer to their problem, but sadly to a high cost I have found it not to be mine. Oh well you live and learn, I gave it a shot. But what I can tell you is it has made me realise WLS is NOT the answer for me, I will not be paying more to get a sleeve or a bipass. I will do it on my own or not at all, and I am OK with that...
So enough of my troubles :) how's you?

Bella I'm so sorry to hear you didn't get on with it and to be honest I don't think it will work for me like I want it to.I was told the same as you but I eat everything and anything.I have 7 ml in a 10ml band and have no restriction.when u think how small that gap is there should b something stopping me.I also feel hungry all the time and was told it is head hunger.I do more exercise now than I ever did before and iv stayed the same for over 4 months.

Been for a fill today.0.25 so have 7.25 in a 10 ml band.I need to see the dietician in may for a face to face meeting as I haven't lost any weight in 6 months and with wot I'm eating and the extra exercise I don't no why.

I'v been very careful with my food this week after having my fill on Wednesday I was on liquids for two days and sloppies for two days.Today iv had roast chicken for my dinner and I felt full after just a few mouthfuls so I'm hoping its made a difference i'll weigh myself on Wednesday.

Hi
Well done on the weight loss this week. Would you mind me asking how much you have in your band? I have 6.5mls in a 10ml band and only have restriction in the morning. Thank you so much. Xx

I have 7.25 in a 10ml band and I feel restriction now but up until my last fill 3 wks ago I could still eat most things but I have uped my exercise .
If anyone is interested there is an app on the nhs website called couch to 5k.its your own personal trainer in your ear.trains you to run 5k in 9 wks .

Couch to 5 k is good but be careful if u haven't done any exercise b4 just do wot you can slowly you can repeat wks more than once.doing 8 x60 second runs is hard work.but it does motivate u.give it a go.

Lola and Jo how r u both doing?

Hardly come on here so complete fluke I spied this. We are both doing fab thanks hun. Regularly updating each other with our races to the finish line. I can now say 4weeks 6days..how time has flown by! Great to see you exercising etc! It really does help :) x
