true sorry brain was working overtime Sam and spewing out s**t really lol

Terri you are so funny.... what you said made a lot of sense. Just seems a bit unfair that Rach is still waiting for a decision.

rang and spoke to Tracy lowe no news on change of funding issue, but have a date of 6th May whoop de doo

Terri, that's fabulous news!! Sorry I didn't empathise earlier on, but only saw the messages once I logged on today and you've already posted about your date!! I was empathising with you though!! So are you planning your pre-op diet already?!

Have you had any news at all Lorna about your appeal?

Hi Sam / Terri - no news yet. I had a confirmation from the PCT (the lady there is being very helpful) to say that they had received my individual funding request, and because of the value (under £10k) it will be able to go to the interim IFR panel. I don't know if that's the one which is on 12 March, but have sent an email back to ask if they can give me any update on progress.

TBH, I am settling in for the long haul. There is a great post on the 'other' forum which shows what you need to appy for from the PCT (under Freedom of Information), including things like how many ops have they funded, etc. I will be putting this to use straight away if I am rejected again.

Still feeling 'fine' about it - ie not feeling so worked up I want to kill someone or depressed enough to start on bottles of scotch every night (although did have a little one last night!). I know there is a process to follow and I have to do it, so that's what I'm doing.

I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything - will probably need some humour injected into my life at that point!! I have to have an echocardiogram (heart ultrasound) on Thursday, same day as panel, so that will keep me occupied!

Lorna dont worry about it have had a bad couple of days but today is better lol. I have been planning my pre op diet for th elast 2/3 weeks hehe and my last suppers but seriously need to get the house in order for whilst I'm in hospital cause neither my children nor my hubby know how to look for things and i can imagine becky going to school in jeans and that cause no one can find her uniform

Hows things going with you Lorna

No it hasnt been applied for yet and wont be until i go to my appointment in April and say...yes...i want the surgery...:(

Rach - firstly can I say congratulations on the mortgage!!! Who did you go with? Good luck in finding your dream house!

Secondly - I had a discussion with the hospital when I chased them about the appeal document a couple of weeks ago, and was told that they are now introducing a new scheme where people will be sent away after their first appointment and told to try to lose some weight. They have to come back in 4 months (I think it was) and if they haven't lost or have put on weight, they won't apply for funding. I didn't mention anything at the time as I didn't want to be seen as scaremongering, but it does seem that it is now being implemented. Again though, it is clear this isn't being consistently applied! I had seen two new people on this thread describe their first appt and it didn't sound like it was being implemented.

So might be wise to try to lose a couple of pounds as well - I am presuming that your initial weight and BMI at first appt will be what they use for the funding application, as it wouldn't be right to send you away to lose weight and then your BMI obviously lowers so you may not be in the eligible criteria (unless you're me and need to put it on to start with ha ha ha!!).

Lorns..xx

Oh, and I will have plenty to keep me occupied soon, we picked a puppy last weekend (in West Bromwich) and we are bringing her home hopefully two weeks today! Some of you will already have seen her from the pics on facebook. She is an almost all black Jack Russell with a white streak on her neck, a white chest, white paws and a tiny bit of white on the tip of her tail! Can't wait, our first dog together, and my first puppy!!

Glad hubby agreed to go swimming with you Alexa. Are you definitely going next wednesday? I'll do my best to join you if you are.

Hiya everyone and new pips too.

Terri whoooooooowhoooooo so made up for ya may, nice month for it! x

Rach I was thinking about your predicament and have you ever asked if your age and not having kids yet, makes any difference? I'm mentioning it cuz most of us are late 20's onwards and have our families already. I should imagine having kids after a Bypass is more complicated. Congratulations on getting your morgage too.

Hope everyone else is ok, I'm feeling a bit better now, i've started to eat a bit of mash, fish and chicken, feeling a lot stronger now, boy that liquid stage is a *****! lol Take care all. xxxxx

Piss in a pot If you buy a bigger hibbi scrub and follow instructions you will have enough for before 1st pre op and your actual op:D

Hiya Terri, glad to hear your good news I like may lol. That would be good to see you all.

Sam thats ok chucks. I feel ready, I feel hungry by the evening now, so I am taking it easy. Walsall M, has the longest liquid period, I wonder why? I was starting to feel very ill, to the point I did'nt even want to drink. So paul (my Angel in disguise bless him) made me drink every hour and have the blumin fortimels and soup and I feel lots better now thankgoodness.
