Thank you everyone :D

My appointment was at 7:55pm but i got there about 7:20pm lol.

Apparently they had tried to call me all day, to ask me to come in asap as most the clinic appointments had cancelled.
But i was at work and no one was in at home so i didnt know :(

I got weighed by Terry (lovely man) i weighed in at 164.3kg and i am 5ft 10 which i think Sam said my BMI is about 51??? (thanks Sam :D)

I went in and saw Dr. Hartland and he explained what we will be talking about and he was talking as though i will be having the surgery, so i asked if he was saying yes, no or maybe.

He said well if you want the surgery then they will do it.
I looked at Adam and cried....

Dr Hartland asked if i was ok and i couldnt speak but Adam answered for me and said she is just realived i think.

He asked me my age and if i know what i wanted and then he explained the band and the bypass...i want the bypass i know that it will be best for me.

He gave me information on the bypass and foods etc...

He said that i will have an appointment with the anethnatist and Dr. Khan and himself and with the dietician in about 8 weeks time.

He then said he would hope to do the operation June or July :D

So yeah...I am on may way..FINALLY :D

xxxx

All in all mine took aprox 12 weeks from seeing my Dr in October saw Dr Hartland in October say anethsatist in NOvember had op 2nd jan

WOW Teen, 12 weeks is incredibly quick. DO you mind me asking if you were fast tracked for any reason?

Nice one Rachel! WM will apply for the funding from your PCT now and you should go on the waiting list from when WM receive confirmation of funding approval.

There seems to be a six week plus delay between initial appointment and funding application due to the delay in getting the files to the lady who does the funding applications.

Depending on your PCT, the good news is that a decision usually comes back within a week.

I'd just look forward to your holiday and let it all happen.

Rach, Ditto everything Red has said.

Just try to relax now and let things happen.

Hi Sam no wasnt fast tracked as I have no health issues My Dr sent the refferal as soon as I had some blood tests, ecg and a chest x ray That was end of august Got letter to see Dr hartland Mid October He said I would get funding. I Then went for blood tests breathing test Mrsa swobs think that was beginning of Nov. Saw the anethsatist late Nov and he offered me either 4 or 5 dates before and after xmas so I went for 2nd jan

16 weeks is still brilliant Teen. I originally saw my doc on 11th Dec, had first appoinment at WM on 14th Jan - not had any further appointments yet or confirmation of funding so Im expecting Ive still another 4 months or so to go

Been a bit quiet on the old Walsall thread today.... how is everybody?

i'm ok sam, hows you?

Not too bad Terri... got a quiet friday night in planned as usual. Neil out at snooker tonight so I can watch what I want on telly without complaint lol

:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

I am really fed up, the hospital have cancelled my op today for the 13th March and I am now having it done (thats if they dont cancel again) 8th April.

I could scream ggggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrr i just want to cry. :(

they say that some doc who covers nights and emergencies is going on annnual leave, that means that Miss Heitman and the other doc have to cover this doctors shift, and they have had to cancell all surgeries which fall in that period.

I said can i have a cancellation they said the date they have given is a cancellation. So i burst into tears, stupid i know but i am the only one i know who has had to wait 8 weeks past pre-op assessments for the op date.
