How you feeling today? x

if its not one thing its another, had a bit of a run in with the littlest bull matiff, well actually he ran into me and my knee know looks like a hot air balloon, have been having problems with water retention in it anyway for the last week or so.

Cheers Terri, have you decided which plan your going to do yet, cuz it wont be long til your in this position too? x

was gonna do the milk diet, cause i don't think the one piece of toast and Low fat spread camp is me lol I'd rather go with out than have a little and crave more???? maybe when you're on the other side of it all I'll pick your brains. Apart from the milk thing how are you?

Yeah thats an idea, then at least it would'nt be making me feel sick! I must say though this afternoon my mood has perked up a bit, so perhaps my body is getting used to it?

Did you get some milk shake stuff give it a differant flavour

I'm feeling a bit better this afternoon Terri thanks. Yeah my hubby said that too Red. Hopefully i've come through that brick wall stage! Hoping tomorrow will get even more better, it will be day 5 already! x

Paul did look at the crusher when he popped to Asda the other day, but it was no added suger, not suger free, so he never got it. Not sure if allowed it or not?

OK, I have spoken with Dr Hartland today. He was absolutely lovely and had no problem with me ringing him. I told him that I spoke to Tracey Lowe yesterday and that it appears she has not yet received a letter from him to enable her to request my funding.

He said that they had been a little behind with sending the letters over to Tracey, but assured me that he would get his secretary to do it today if it hadn't been done already. I will now ring Tracey Lowe on Friday to see if it has been done and to make sure she has sent my request to the right PCT.

I too am a little concerned that people are passing me by - and Rachael knows that I dont mean any offence by that. I have spoken to Rachael a couple of times by phone the past couple of days and it was Rach who gave me Dr H's number, and gave me the shove to ring him again today. Rach knows that I am pleased that her journey seems to be happening quickly. As you girls have pointed out, it is the system that is at fault.

The other thing I have been waiting for, and stressing about which some of you know about is news about a job I have applied for. This is my dream job and there were 6000 applicants. I went to an assessment day last week which was very tough, and I found out today that I have reached the final stage. I have a final interview next Monday and I am going to focus all my effort on that now for the next few days.

I just want to say a massive thank you to all of you who have been texting me, PMing me, phoning me etc to offer support. I feel so lucky to know so many of you going through the same processes. You are keeping me sane!

I didn’t take any offence to it Waynetta so don’t worry hun :)

I am just a impatient bugger so I call all the bloody time asking, what is going on etc…

Yeah I am ok Sam…Just stressed to hell with work and I am starving as I didn’t have my dinner because I was busy working (should be working now but I need a little break I think I deserve it lol) how are you hun?

I don’t know if I am being processed any faster…I went to see the doctor to send my referral he sent it off and I chased begging for any cancellations which they gave me..so from me seeing my doctor until my appointment with Dr. Hartland it was 24 days.

Then I called asking about my appointment asking for a date as soon as possible cancellations etc…they said it would have to be at least 8 weeks…which they gave me 28th April 2009.

I then sent a letter to Dr.Hartland having a bit of a whinge and moan about certain things and explaining a few things.
I then spoke to him today and he said he will put me forward for surgery and gave me my pre-op assessment appointment for 24th April 2009…which is 72 days time (not counting or anything) which in total from seeing my doctor to pre-op appointment is 14 weeks??

xxxxxxxxxx

Thats good that you have got something else to focus on, I think it is so overwelming and thats when you need to take a step back and try to think of other things. I'm glad you finally have something to go on now, by finally speaking to Dr H. I now hope you get the news you want on the job front also, oh yeah and a blumin pre op appointment soon! xxxxx

I am glad that you rang him Sam, he is so very helpful and he seems like he has time for everyone not matter what.

To be honest I think Dr. Hartland’s secretary seems very helpful too.

I know that you don’t mean any offence hun, I just wish that we were both on our pre-op diets right now!!

Congratulations again on getting to the final stage, I know that you will do brilliantly :D

I have told you before Sam, and the same for anyone else who wants to vent or just talk…email me, text me ring me anytime and I will always try and do my best to make you smile..

Well it seemed to work Rach, you got your appointments through really fast! Perhaps when Sam feels a bit better, she should chase up for cancellations too. Roll on the summer, when everyone should be all done and dusted! lol x

Usually I wouldn’t be like this, but this is very important to me and I think that is what is driving me to do it.

Xxx

BTW: I am not saying that anyone else isn’t driven by it etc…just…well you know…I am just trying to explain why I am so pushy lol.

xx

Good Luck Sam with the next phase of the job interview process.

Allie I was going to do the milk diet...but dunno which one to do now.

Good News Rach...thats fast work for pre-op assessments.

I have got to say I am proper pissed off today, after waiting nearly 5 months to see a councillor I have been told that I have got to get re-referred by my doctor…GGGGGRRRRRRRR!!!

I went to my doctor in late October early November and he referred me after waiting 4 weeks I had a letter saying are you SURE that you want an appointment.

I then called and said YES!!

I then waited another 4 weeks for an appointment which I went to in January and after waiting for over an hour I find that he decided to go home because he “forgot” I was coming.

So he then called me later that day, (didn’t speak English well at all) and basically went through everything the doctor did and then said he will refer me to ANOTHER section of Mental Health.

After nearly flipping out at someone at work this morning I thought I should call up and chase my appointment, oh and found I am not on the system.

FFS!!!

Fingers crossed for Monday for you Sam :cross:

You have to keep chasing them at the Manor, I've found that out myself, good luck on that front as well.

which in total from seeing my doctor to pre-op appointment is 14 weeks??

Saw doctor late Sept/early Oct. Initial appointment at WM 6th Nov. First pre-op appt 20th March = roughly 24 weeks.

I am wondering if Stoke PCT funding is already in place when you are referred, as there seems to be no waiting for funding approval. Just a thought.
