Allergic to food and immune to diets: my gastric bypass story

Hi Ollie,
Aren't our bodies weird? I've had stuff like that happen to me, then when I try the same food a bit later i don't dump. Bizzare!

I've come to the conclusion that bodies do what bodies want to do and never mind what we desire!!! :giggle:

Well done on the fab weightloss so far... :)

Hello everyone!
I'm so sorry that I've not been on Minimins very regularly recently, but I've been working hard on the website for Firewalking Dreams. I've posted the website address and my phone number as a signature for those of you who asked for the details a while ago. Like I said, firewalking is a truly liberating experience. It helps you deal with all the bad stuff, like weight, lack of self belief and self confidence, indecisiveness (in my case all the above applied), frustration etc. It turns all that negativity into a positive, ironically warm feeling that radietes from you, helping you find your inner self and your goals and then helping you aim towards them in a focused way. I'm sharing all this with you because I am so excited about being able to change everyone else's life in a positive way. I'm hoping to do quite a bit of charity fund raisers to give somethinbg back and a some of you have already asked me to work on an event for your charity (HC I emailed the charity to let them know that we are now live and ready to go). On the other hand, I do individual and group workshops for anyone if you want to try your hand at firewalking, bar bending or arrow breaking. I know that if I can do it, then anyone can. Hey, since I did the last firewalk I have manifested lots of weight loss so it worked for me!!

I really should get back to working abit now because I've had a massive break to catch up with what's been happening on minimins. There are so many new people that I want to get to know, but at least I've made a start. I can't believe how long it takes to catch up after a couple of weeks away.

Hi everyone,
I'm chuffed today because I now weigh 14 stones exactly. A nice change from my previous 17 and a half stone!! Wehey!
I have a problem though. I went away and had just fresh vegetarian food, not even including quorn, for two weeks and it worked out well. I've been trying to eat similarly since i got back, but am now trying to reintroduce stuff like quorn bolognese, which I could eat perfectly well before I went away. The trouble is that for a few days now I keep getting dumping sensations when I eat quorn and even some pasta and nimble bread, although I could eat them in small quantities perfectly fine before. I feel weak, tired and full almost immediately. I love quorn and am trying to get more protein in my vegetarian diet, but don't know what to do. I plan to go back to basics, eating mashed potato, veg and soups, but was wondering if you have any ideas of how I can vary my diet a bit and even reintroduce these foods that I like a bit. Even tofu makes me feel like I'm eating cardboard. I'm fed up of suffering and having to rush to the toilet because of what I eat. It's not like I'm eating high fat or sugary foods, but what I do eat comes right through me. Please help my fellow bypassers! Thanks.

sorry I can't help Sara, but wanted to say well done on the weight loss again!

Thanks Shel. I hope someone can help!
I've not eaten anything all day since my toast this morning because I really don't know what to have! I'm still pondering about what to make for tea, but not getting very far. I'm tired because it's now 6.45pm and I need something to give me energy.:(

Hi HC,
Nope, I don't have a tummy bug. I know the difference. I widh it was then it would just go away! I find it harder to eat during the day and in the evening I'm able to eat more so I think it may be that I have to eat very natural things to line my stomach before I eat anything that has taste or bread etc. Weird I know! It's like I will dump off toast in the morning, but it's fine in the evening. I also find that I don't fancy food at all during the day because I'm scared that I will suffer if I eat anything. I'm literally forced to eat during the day. What a change compared to before the operation!
Again, any tips are gratefully received!
Thanks guys...

Hi everyone,
Well, things are pretty much the same on the dumping front for me. I'm going to my friend's wedding on Saturday and hope that they feed us lots of soft vegetables because I don't want to br the one sat in the corner looking peeky or the one who has to run off to the toilet during the speeches. On the plus side, I'm now able to wear my size 16 jeans and tried my size 14 dress for the evening party and it fit!!

Get you little miss size 14! Well done you, you've done so well!

You do realise we want pictures of you in your tiny size 14 outfit Sara so we can all celebrate your progress with you!! Well done matey, bet you will look stunning, have a great time at the wedding!

Hi Ali,
Sure, I'll get Gordon to take a photo of me at the wedding and get it on here for you all to see asap. I wouldn't say that I look stunning, but I feel much better about my body already.Your weightloss is fantastic Ali. Well done you!
Did I tell you all that I got my nails done for the wedding today? I've not had tips put on for ages so it feels weird and I can't scratch now! Lol. They look nice though. I also had my hair done in pink again (sorry for being a copy cat again Mandy!) to compliment my purple dress and pink shrug for the day reception. I've also had a red love heart tattoo done on my foot, my first ever tattoo - ouch!

Great to hear you making such positive changes Sara, can't wait for the pictures x
