Allergic to food and immune to diets: my gastric bypass story

I'm glad the Doc has concluded what's causing Gordon's medical issues - now they can start sorting him out :)

And I hope all went well today for you, baba... rest up and take it easy for a couple of days. Take advantage of having your mum over ;)

You've been through a lot of stress recently.

Thanks. I really loved having him home for a few hours today. It felt like normal again. I've also been taken care of after my op, so apart from being a bit sore I'm fine. My mum went home earlier tonight.
I didn't get the Trisha job, but that would have meant I'd have to relocate next weekend, which really wouldn't have have been convenient with Gordon so ill. It must not have been meant to be. I'm also going to have to postpone my Inverness interview again! I'm sure they'll be fed up of me changing the dates, but some things are more important. I really don't want to leave Gordon for 2 days to attend the interview while he's having the tests and also I have 2 dogs so I can't leave them alone for that long either. Fingers crossed that he'll be better next week so that I can reorganise the interview.
On the plus side, I've been shortlisted in a journalism competition. I'm in the final 6 and the winner will be announced in November sometime.

Hi everyone!
It's been one mad day today. I worked 9-9 and then sneaked in to see Gordon after work. He's having even more blood tests done tomorrow and hopeflly another xray on Tuesday and the next CT scan on Wednesday/Thursday, unless the dr changes his mind. The results for the previous tests aren't back yet. He's still the same and will probably be in hospital for most of the week.
I postponed my Inverness interview, arranged for tomorrow, again and they offered me another date for next week, in the hope that Gordon will be better by then. I can't believehow understanding they are about the whole thing.
Will be working hard on the dissertation again tomorrow, in between hospital visits, in the hope that I finish it this week. I've written 8800 words and have the notes ready for the final 4200 so hopefully it won't take too long!

Hi Hun...

Hope you are ok... and recovering... I like the way you casually reel of the amount of wards, you have done and need to still do!!! although i love education and learning have to say that would scare the pants out of me!!!!LOL

Well done Sara, you are coping admirably and doing really well in juggling all that you have to do at the mo so well......you are an inspiration! I am trying to figure out the topic for my dissertation at the mo and ours is only 8000 words, you make it sound like such a manageable process it gives me hope.
Keep us posted on Gordon - he sounds like he is getting great care and attention and is being looked after well.
Keep plugging away hun, you will get there in the end and the results will be worth it all xx

Hi Linda and Ali,
Thanks for your words of encouragement. The doctor has just been to see Gordon and he's being put on steroids for the pain and something on drip for the sickness. the results of the tests are still not back, but they're still doing more tests because they say he's a puzzling case.
I've written a few more hundred words this morning, so I'm getting there slowly. If I can do it Ali, then you can too.

Sara you're an inspiration, you've handled everything so well. Good on you :D x

Thanks Shel. I must admit I broke an arrow with my throat at home on Saturday, something that we do as a motivational tool in our workshops. So I think that it's helped motivate me for the last push for the dissertation. I have now written 10,134 words so I'm sure I will make the deadline, I may even go over the wordcount knowing me and will need to cut bits out, which I hate.

lol most people just do the laundry, maybe a bit of housework, but not our Sara! Arrows beware :D
