Gastric Balloon Any ballooners out there? Support needed!

Kismet I can totally relate. I've had a really bad day today. Had a really restless night lots of cramps and wind. Tried to go food shopping today and nearly passed out in asda. I just feel like although I'm losing weight I've no energy and this is not getting better. I'm supposed to be back at work next week but if things don't improve I'm still not going to be ready. Anyone got any advice?

So sorry to hear! May I recommend papaya enzyme tablets? I take them for indigestion and boo-boo belly, plus they're yummy - they sell them at Holland & Barrett. I vommed last week off of 2 Tbsp of hummus. It's very unpredictable, but if the scale is going down if say it's worth it! Keep your chin up!

Hi neisie, not heard of these but I'm in town Saturday so will have a look. The scales are going in the right direction. Just having a blue day.

Woody I know how you feel. When I don't feel good I eat a bit of banana which gives me a bit of a lift. Oddly mash potato soothes my cramps ( don't ask why) but it works for me. Always have a small pot in fridge now just in case lol hope you feel better soon x

Thanks Kismett will try that. When I have a homemade smoothie which contains banana that does help. Just sick of having no energy and always being thirsty no matter how much I drink xx

Hey Woody, sorry to hear you're having a rough time. My doctor gave me some pills to help me get to sleep, they're a godsend. I only take them when I'm uncomfortable. When I get bad cramps/gas I lay on my left side, curled up in fetal position; it helps a lot. I also chew the papaya pills - I've had belly issues since I was little and my mom always gave them to me - they work like a charm.

I've read that a lot of people have a really tough time with the fully inflated balloon. It's just more for your body to deal with. Are you exercising? I have loads of energy when I exercise. And maybe some vitamin B?

Hope you feel better tomorrow!

Thanks Neisie. I haven't been able to exercise as I feel like I'm going to pass out. I will look into papaya tablets. I have been diagnosed several years ago with fibromyalgia but after having the balloon I have been having no symptoms so have stopped my medications under supervision of gp. I may try starting back on the amytriptalline as that helped me sleep. Xx

Maybe some swimming or the recumbent bike? Great news about the fibromyalgia!!!! That's wonderful. I do sleep better when I exercise, and when I don't eat processed foods. I also have Melatonin and Tylenol PM which work well. I'm sure your doc will give you something. Your lack of sleep is obviously connected to the other issues you're having now. My world falls apart when I don't sleep well... typical girl :)

On no Neisie I'm sorry. Can you pin point where it's come from?
I've just weighed myself and lost another 2 lbs xx
Is it because you are close to your target weight, you said the other day that your bmi was now normal
Sending hugs xxxxx

It's a pound, could be worse... But I had a big night of drinking two nights ago (my best friend is visiting from the states and we talked and drank champagne until 3 am). Plus out for meals, desert safari, Thanksgiving Brunch tomorrow - I'm being good but it's hard - and people give you a hard time when you only eat 1000 calories a day.

I'm not close to my goal - I have 45 more lbs to go. I'm just no longer obese, my BMI is now overweight. I'm just a bit depressed that it's so easy to gain, even when I restrict so much I still gain - I need to be under 1,000, restricting carbs, and exercising like crazy to drop weight :(

Ok - day is better - I took a selfie with a camel :)

Just finished my 2nd race of the season! Ran the whole thing, didn't stop. Times aren't out yet but I took at least 2 min off my last time, I believe. Proud of myself :)

Well done Neisie :)

Thanks, everyone! I got my time this morning, I was just over 29 minutes so I was three minutes faster than last time! Woo hoo!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Hi everyone
How does everyone deal with a severe lack of energy. I don't know if it's my fibromyalgia or because of the balloon. I just feel that by now I should be dealing with it better. I hate having to have naps during the day and it easily turns into 3 hours sometimes. I know this has a knock on effect on my night time sleeping bug most days cannot make it through the day without going back to bed. Is this normal?
Sorry to sound down having a blue day today xx

Hi woody, lack of energy is due to the reduction in calories and carbs. Are you taking a multi vitamin? I read a recent article recently that said fibromyalgia sufferers should do a 5 minute high impact exercise during periods of fatigue. This releases the endorphins to reduce fatigue.
Hope this helps xx

Hi Kismet
I am taking a multi vitamin. I feel like any exercise will be hard but what you say makes sense about release of endorphins so will try that. Seeing dr tomoro am so hopefully he will be able to suggest more xx
