Morning Claudia , yes it has been quiet hasnt it , well since having my Pre-Opp assessment on Friday and getting green light for surgery on 23rd iv been counting down the days with excitement and apprehension .........Started my pre-opp liquid diet yesterday .....so its all milk n water with bovril n jelly thrown in as a treat ..............been trying to find out as much as possible about Operation and life after ..........can anyone tell me after the Op and you come round , how soon is it until il be able to shower without worry to Op marks , as I do like to keep clean . Although my mobility is limited trying hardest to get my home Spring cleaned to give me something to do and just incase I cant do alot after coming out of hospital , I hope everyones coping well and I guess I may see some of you on the Other side ........good luck

To anyone of you having Op around the 23rd , il be in L&D then (Big Bloke , Bald Head , Loadsa Tattoos , Big Ear rings and a cheeky smile) ya cant miss me , please come up n say hello , if only to wish each other luck or put a face to who we chat to on here after as itd be nice to stay in touch to see how we are all coping , progressing and perhaps encourage each other , some folk say I look menacing , im not , im a big teddy bear really , and if your lucky il show you my monkey ok ..........good luck to all of you xx

Thanks Freddys mum , I dont know about fabulous , im just me , I try and be nice and helpful , and if you really want to know my monkey is on my belly bending over mooning and my belly button is his A******e ...........its my party piece ..........and believe me as well as giving many laughs my monkey has come in very hand many times !!!!! And the surgeon has promised not to harm him x

Glad to hear you are all well.

I have been on milk diet for 3 weeks tomorrow... one more week to go until I have to go back for my appointments and they will check my loss.

They have said I need to lose about a stone and a half before next appointment and I have lost 20lb over last 3 weeks so hopefully all being well I will reach their target.

I am finding milk diet ok and even manage to cook for my hubby without eating ???

The test for me is I am off on holiday on Friday... to Italy and I get weighed the day after I get back.... gotta do this though. Its so important ?

Any tips on how u deal with social occaisons will be helpful too...

Same here Claudia ,....next Monday is D, Day ..........iv got just about every feeling going whirling about in my head ........but I know if followed correctly and with determination a slimmer , happier life awaits me , be strong this week and say goodbye to the old you xx

Scary isn't it. I have just over a month to go. Got my ultrasound tomorrow to check if I have gallstones, if I have, my gall bladder will come out at the same time as bypass and hernia repair. Claudia have you bought any mouth spray to take with you, looked at some today but it is £9. Can anyone tell me where you would by it and the name of it, or why can't we use ordinary water in a spray bottle? Thankfully we have some time to get away in our Motorhome and are leaving tomorrow for almost two weeks, returning a couple of days before pre-op assessment at Luton. Have you had your pre-op yet? Not long now. Will have internet with us so can keep up with everyone's progress.

Hello Sundowners , hope your having nice weather in your camper , anyway saw you ask about Mouthspray , iv got some stuff from BOOTS and I got 3 bottles for price of 2 ,,.....just type in on Boots site 'mouthspray' and youl see it come up , I take it thats what they mean anyway ........good luck with your pre-op and after ok x

Ive got the same spray as fatbloke, boots wasn't badly priced and 3 for 2.
I have my pre op today at 3:30!!! So nervous!!
I know how that feels fatbloke my brains all over!! But we have to think of the end game xxx

Oh once again my surgery has been cancelled and no one cared to tell me apart from as i walked out the door i received an letter informing me of such! Due to now two changed dates, this being the third! im now not going to be able to have surgery! So thankyou very much l&d and your digusting organisation skills!! Youve wasted the last 18 months of my life for nothing!!

Due to now two changed dates, this being the third! im now not going to be able to have surgery! So thankyou very much l&d and your digusting organisation skills!! Youve wasted the last 18 months of my life for nothing!!

What the hell is going on????? Does it mean a change of date or what? Have you phoned them to ask? Oh Claudia I really feel for you, hope everything works out in the end. Big hugs from me.

Ive got no one to look after 9 horses, 2 kids one being three and my disabled mother. It's just one problem after another! The way that place is making me feel is like crap every appointment no lie it's another problem!!

I honestly don't know but this honestly means I won't be getting surgery if they can't do it between the 23rd and 1st. I'm now going to have two young children off school on their holidays and no one to look after them, I have my mum with COPD and she's also in a wheelchair that I look after. Plus all the horses I honestly don't know what to do because I don't care about the date but I just can't change because of other commitments? My husband would have to quit his job to have more time off! That's how serious it is and as we can't do that my surgery will have to go. I'm absolutely gutted after everything and I had so much planned and was looking forward to taking my kids away on their first holiday because I don't fit in the seats is shattered, I won't be able to do half the things I wanted to! I'm just going to be stuck in this **** rut!!
