Banders Daily Diet and Exercise Log

The thing is Magic - no way would ryvita, banana and satsumas been enough pre-op. I would of had at least 2 x rounds of sandwiches as well as crisps and still of been looking around for more.....nibbling at stuff all day long, as well as having a massive dinner at night with sweets etc; after.

The difference is I know I feel genuinely full now. That feeling lasts for quite a few hours....truth is I probably don`t even need the snacks at times....but I`m also aware if I don`t get enough calories, then I don`t lose the weight then either.

When I look back it appalls me at how much I used to eat!

She's right Magic, even when I am having those treats on the weekend, I can't eat the volume I used to...no way!!
And if I do I am throwing it back up because with my level of restriction, it can't physically fit in.
Now if I am in a stupid self destruct mood, I can slowly make my way through a tub of haagen Daz if I'm determined enough...guess what though? You can't eat that slow and still binge.. it cancels the binge out because the slowness gives your tummy time to send the stop signal to your brain.

It definately has helped me overall. I was seriously overweight for a decade (eg 16 stone overweight) so I have NO doubt that the band is stopping me enough from putting too much back on.
 
thanks neen and kitkat. looking at the diaries i was like wow i could eat that in one sitting what u eat in a day! i realise its making the right food choices and not about eating less and being hungry....see being on the pre op im hating it. constantly starving and obsessing about what food i can cant eat and im fed up and thought ill have this band and will do rubbish because ur food diaries are tiny...no way could i eat that and be full... but if u guys are being full on that its AMAZING!

haagen dazs! my best friend...yummy gotta stay away if i dont wana be sweating like a lil piggy this summer.
 
hi magic i am most definately dieting because 2 months ago i was the same as the others eating large meals looking for something sweet straight after eating crisps choc etc in between meals. now i have my 3 main meals a day and am full for 3-4 hours am trying to add healthy snacks to keep calories and protein up as the weight loss stalls. everyday i still get head hunger where i want crisps etc but when i think about it i dont need them as i'm not hungry:) hope that helps this is by no means an easy option but it will be the best thing i have ever done for myself:D

30g special k + s/s milk = 134cals
alpen light bar = 63cals

lunch
3 ryvitas + 30g philly light + half john west salmon pate = 265cals
activia snackpot =99cals

dinner
ww beef hotpot + 2 ryvita =279cals

snack
highlights = 40cals
2 tea with s/milk =30cals

total=937
 
Hi magic,

I'd say the band helps A LOT and although I'm calorie counting i don't feel like I'm missing out or craving things half as much. Admittedly, I'm only a few weeks in but previously, before my band was filled, I would wake up RAVENOUS, whether it was 3am with the baby or normal morning time, and would eat and eat all day.
Today I forgot to have breakfast!!! I just didn't feel hungry and didn't think about it til 11 ish when I had oatso.

It'll defo help you, hun and minimises the physical hunger a lot.
You'll still have to fight the hungry head demons but they're less powerful I think.

oh wow! thanks everyone and im very sorry for the thread hijack....just got in a panic looking at how little everyone eats!!

Well I have done it - Joined the gym and had my induction today!


And it gave me such a Buzz**

Loved it and now it will be a regular habit, work permitting!

Guess I can make an hour here or there 2 or 3 times a week!

I have been pretty good since my restriction this time, but had felt I lacked the discipline of excercise....and although I walked my dog every day....it just was`nt enough!

Poor creature did`nt want to be dragged around when I wanted to pick up speed, he likes to sniff every blade of grass.....and now he shall :doggy:

haha kk!! good stuff im glad they will be 'seen to'!!

and woop woop on the gym!! if u can, try do the classes.... i find they are really good in keeping u going. also invest in a mp3 player and put some good tunes on there to keep u going!

gym gives an enormous sense of self achievment and will defo help with the weight loss...when i go i end up stuffing my face after! haha...pointless!! cant do the classes at the mo as too big, but there are classes for different levels etc which might be useful. u sweat buckets and use muscles u didnt know u had!

had the SF...its quite filling...how can a drink be filling?? and neen how do u get ur ice cubes to crush. mine didnt and its a brand new blender (500w) from asda!

B : 20g of fruit smoothie, few sips of tea
L : Water
D : Almost half a can of soup
E : Nothing as yet but will try stepping on the wii later

Hello my fellow bandettes,
Another good day today, taking one day at a time seems to have settled my self-destruct mode for now. I remember when I gave up smoking a few years ago I did it by saying to myself that I hadn't given up smoking as such but I just wasn't going to smoke today, and before you know it 5 years have gone by!
So today I made good choices again;
Breakfast - Cereal Bar
Lunch - crackers with tuna and sweetcorn filler, babybel cheese and a few grapes
Dinner - Chicken and bacon pancake with sweetcorn
Milk in coffee - had 2 milky ones today plus a few normal
Low cal hot choc drink
Overall I reckon I've had around 1000 cals or so today, maybe a tad more. Pleased with how today has gone, planning on having another good day tomorrow.

Breakfast - 30g fruit & fibre, 50g s/s milk

snack (lunch) 2 x special k cereal bars + 1 x apple

lunch - went to gym

snack 2 x water biscuits with philly light + tomato

tea - Shepherds pie, carrots, peas, cabbage

snack - yogurt

drinks - 2 x teas, 1 x coffee, water for gym, s/f juice for rest of the day.


night all - its bedtime!

Today:
b - slice of toast with utterly butterly, (well 2/3 of one which stayed down and was yum), 130?
L - m&s crisps and skinny latte, 300?
S - tuna ww tin, 85
D - ww fish pie, 1 prawn Cantonese style from hubby's Chinese, 250
Caramac ice cream, 118

Not amazing food choices but chose not to have a Chinese with husband in favour of virtuous fish pie, so that's good.

Ex- walk round lake with 1 baby and 2 wilful dawgs, swimming with baby

Wow last two days have been bad for me :S
Yesterday I couldn't eat my lunch and barely got a yogurt down and dinner threw all I ate back up . I had a slimfast in the evening which did go down.
Then this morning OK with breakfast and lunch and tea but really hungry so I guess I was starving from yesterday and very low calories most of the week.
Need to re-evaluate my daily thing
 
Eaten a bit more today

B - Fruit tube
L - Tomato soup
S - Homemade vegetable soup
D - Homemade vegetable soup
S - Tiny bit of chocolate
E - 30 minute walk
Water intake better but it so hard when you are just sipping.
