Banders Daily Diet and Exercise Log

My band is playing me right up today, is this normal?
Breakfast...shredded wheat
Lunch.......lunch was in a cafe, tried to eat panini and salad. I had about 3 or 4 bites when the dreaded heartburn started, then followed 1 hour of chestpain hiccups and being sick. :(
A bit later I tried to eat again and the same thing happened....bloody nightmare!
Tea.........veg, quorn sausages and mash and it beeping well happened AGAIN! Another hour of hanging over the loo trying to be sick to ease the pain.
Snack...fab lolly..no problems

The last few days I haven't had any bad reactions and have been ravenous all day, all restriction had disapeared. And then today it feels like I've had a huge fill.
What is going on?

Sooner or later with a band you can no longer tolerate bread and most providers would advise to avoid any bread post op.

Your band obviously doesnt like panini and after being sick your tiny tum was irratated.

I dont eat meat so I eat alot of quorn but the sausages need to chewed until I can chew no more for me to eat them.

Its all a learning curve! x
 
If the panini roll was dense and got stuck it would definately be likely to leave the area aggrivated...specially if you were sick..I tend to forget solids for the rest of the day when I get stuck like that because I know it won't go down properly.
Were you feeling at ease when you were eating out? Not stressed etc beforehand?
If it were me I think getting something stuck in public ramps up the stress much more than normal...remember cortisol hormones making tissue swell up...around your pouch/tummy and making the band feel as though it's tighter?
Probably the added fear of throwing up in public etc.
Go steady and have liquids for the rest of today and tomorrow morning and just very carefully try something denser later on...like literally a tiny bite, chewed to death
 
I was working away yesterday then travelling back home at lunch so food a bit erratic!

Yesterday:

breakfast - actimal zero cherry yoghurt with melon and grapes, small amount.

lunch (before I set off)- sweetcorn, tuna, peppers, beetroot, bit of coleslaw.

En route - starbucks mocha frappuccino made with skimmed milk and no cream or whatever it is they usually put on it! Veeerrrrrry nice.

tea - walked round sainsburys when I arrived for ages looking for something. In the end I went for a 3 bean salad and a trio of olives plus a very small bag of cashew nuts.

Today:

breakfast - early start so too early for me to have anything other than an actimal, some coffee and orange juice.

en route home - another starbucks frappuccino!

home - banana, pear and some grapes

tea - eating now, king prawns stir fried with some veg, chilli garlic and soy sauce

Both days lots of water and at the hotel a large glass of red wine!
 
Mmmmm....fizzy jelly! Never had it but it sounds yum.

Miss h - hope your band settles soon. I was just saying to my non banded friend tonight how differently the band can act on different days. Sometimes mine feels really tight and other times I think I need another fill!

This weeks been crud for me in terms of food. Have eaten the wrong types of food and eaten too much since last Friday. Had the old compulsion feeling back and have felt quite down.

Today's been better, if you ignore breakfast!

B - hairibo sweets
L - m&s tomato soup, 1 small roll with half pat of butter,
Skinny latte
S - another small skinny latte, crisps
D - 1 fishcake, olives, 4 cubes feta, sun dried tomatoes and small balls of mozzarella
Half a crunchie

Walked quite a bit.

Today

2 slices lean corned beef, 2 babybel

2 100% steak burgers, stir fried bacon/spring onion/mushrooms
1 dry fried egg

Oh hungrier today though what I eat is mega filling...I guess Aunt Flo is heading my way!

Small bowl tuna & mayo with titchy bit grated cheese

Dietimeal dark choc protein pud (2.5 g carbs per sachet)

S/f blackcurrant jelly (made with part sparkling mineral water) if I need it later

I am upset today so Ulrika is being spiteful!!

breakfast - nothing well just a cup of tea with skimmed

lunch - im so hungry and really fancied some haddock from the works canteen, with peas and salad but can I eat, NO I CANT!!!!

It will sit and go cold then I will try some more later :cry:

B - One Weetabix
L - 2 x Fingered Size of Chicken in Batter, and 3 cubes of chicken ( about double the size of a dice)
D - Rich Chocolate Slim Fast - 250 ml

Fluids So Far

1 Large Mug of Tea
1 Pint of Water
250 Ml of Juice
1/2Pint of Nas Sqaush

Tea--------Homemade chickpea and cauliflower curry and popadoms (yum yum) and mullerlight

Band is behaving today thank goodness.
 
Today's intake:

2 cups of black coffee with splenda sweeteners
Actimel
2 egg omlette with slices of matteson smoked sausage - very tasty and filling - had as a late lunch as I had an appointment at WM
water - pitiful amount
Just going to have home made fish pie - prawns, river cobbler, cheese sauce and topped with a thin layer of potato baked in oven. Made it and had half with Mr TB last night - having the rest with broccoli and peas

No exercise as still in pain.

D: Total Greek Yoghurt with honey, options light hot choc.
W: 500ml
Only 7 days post op so still on liquids.
 
Hey Neen, i think its a great thread for holding yourself accountable and i def think i will find it very helpful.
How's the low carbing going?
 
Cheers hun x It's going great in that I LOVE the food and I am now in ketosis.. I feel well in myself , just not sure what weight is doing. I have been around the same weight ish for a long time with calorie counting and general inconsistancy so I am not expecting to suddenly start losing ...my poor body is giddy with all the nonsense I've put it through and will need time to adjust to my new (hopefully permanent) eating style....you never know though, might get a pleasant suprise xxx

Snacks......banana, fab lolly, two light cheese triangles, my son's left over sprouts!
Tea...........WW beef lasagne, WW apple crumble
I have eaten more today, I'll try and balance it out by eating less tomorrow....hopefully!
Iam doing no exercise what so ever. My dog was spayed yesterday, so I cant walk her for 10 days. I find it very easy to be lazy.
