Well I have some news for us all!!
No nothing on the house front yet....sorry.
I had a meeting with my dietician yesterday and it seems that all the previous information we have been given regarding the full feeling we get have been updated.

I was always told the 'full' receptor is at the top of the stomach, well this is no longer the case apparently.
The top of the stomach is full of muscles which work really hard to push the food through your band. It's the tiredness of these muscles that makes us feel full.
New advise on the street is to take a small bite, chew at least 20 times and then wait one minute before taking the next bite.
This then makes the muscles work on one lot of food at a time and doesn't cause a backlog of food which in some cases can cause sickness as by then the muscles are over tired and struggling to push the food through.
You must stop eating after 20 minutes still and no drinking for half an hour before or after eating.

I've been struggling with my feeling full receptor of late and so I will be giving this new advise a try to see if it helps. Just tried with my breakfast and it's hard waiting for a minute between bites I must confess, hopefully practice will make perfect.

I thought it was an interesting theory and it certainly made sense the way she explained it to me. It also made me realise why I am fine one minute during eating and the next am throwing up despite chewing for ages.

Bad news is I have misread my psychologist appointment date. It's for May 2012!!!!! Gutted. Dietician advised I return to my doctor and see if he can refer me elsewhere instead, as waiting a year for an appointment in her eyes is too long to wait.

Good information. Today ive has to slow down and ive TRIED to wait 1 minute between sips and yes IT IS SO HARD! but im going to try and stick to it.
 
Well! Today I have restriction and I'm hating it ... lol. Hopefully I'll get used to it; I had 2mls put in thus I'm now at 9mls a new frontier of band restriction and boy don't I know it :eek:

Got some more news, forgot to mention this morning, I'm being referred for another fill. She's really pleased with my eating but thinks my restriction is not quite right so is booking me in for another.

HOUSE!!!!!!!!!! I got one!!!!!!!!!! My girls love it too!!!!!!!! and we're allowed to have the dog there!!!!!!!!!

Girls viewed it today :), was told my application is going through well and I now have everything crossed to move on Monday :)
Gas inspection needs doing and they are struggling to get that booked in with British Gas. Def moving next week though may have to do it ourselves. (could use it as a weight loss incentive!!!lol!!!)

So releived. Off to pack some more.

Thanks guys I am so pleased, it is such a relief I was seriously worried.

Comfort eating - I posted on Jillian Michaels FB page for tips and this is what someone responded with.

" You've got to deal with those feelings that are making you eat. Find a new hobby that can be your outlet, for me, my stress outlet is working out or spending some quality time with my dog. You just have to figure out what it is for YOU that will comfort you that is calorie-free. It doesn't have to be working out, it doesn't have to be with an animal. It could be something as simple (though is it really simple?) like knitting. Also, keeping yourself busy with hobbies, etc is also a way to help cure habitual eating. If you're busy, you mind won't be on food at all."

Some of this I agree with, I thought the replacing comfort eating with something else that brings comfort was such a simple idea, and I have to confess it's not something I've ever really thought about before. DOH
It's food for thought pardon the pun xxxxx
 
Hiya all, I'm back from sunny Durham (although I did borrow my sisters laptop for an hour last night after I heard about Admins shock announcement, blooming heck!). We've had an amazing time but we're shattered now, it was amazing to see our Chris, she looks fab.

Hi KitKat honey,

I'm good thank you. I must admit, I've not been feeling great. I'm on soft foods today but I could only manage liquids and even then it kept 'backing up' so I am struggling a lot. Also I feel a lot of discomfort. I managed some beans and mash potato today, but had to eat very very very slowly. At the moment it feels as if watery mash is all I can manage, ever!
I believe this feeling calms down after a few days?

According to instruction I'm supposed to be on 'normal food' as of tomorrow ... not sure how. I have an ache (not a pain, but a little more than discomfort) and I'm hoping it goes and my ability to consume fluids reinstates myself. :confused:

Have you ever been for a run or worked out really hard and you get that chest ache in your wind-pipe from breathing hard? Well the feeling/sensation/ache I have in my chest right now it like that. I also feel as if I'm 'pulling'.

I'll be waiting for it to calm down before consider calling the nurse and have her aspirate me :)

Yeah I think you could do another extra day on liquids to be certain if you're anxious about it.
I have 8cc in my 9cc band so I still get days where I have to revert to liquids if I'm stressy (like yesterday) but then most days I can eat 3 meals no problems and have that full feeling to stop me nibbling (most of the time).
Hopefully that will be the case for you too xx
I remember my team reassuring me that it is not that uncommon for some people to need their bands quite full in order to get the right restriction, and it still sometimes needs tweaking long term!
Coming up to my 3rd year out this Summer so I hope I can keep tootling with what I have in there.

You are definately due some good stuff happening CC so I reckon this is your year x
