Its so sad to see all these negative things that most of us had to endure in our childhoods, no wonder we turned to food for comfort  Its a credit to all of you how you are now doing something positive to help yourselves and turn all that negativity away............well done :D XXX

Kelly,

I am in the same boat as you....I was thinking about doing slimming world, but using the cups to keep the portions in check...and see how that goes....from next week once i am not on the milk torture diet....I do still love to drink milk....which is surprising after all that I have drank the last few weeks...*LOL*

Kelly jacqui---- thanks:D

I don't mind slimming world.....I do like the online slimming world stuff cuz it is easy to look up and to adjust it all....I found I would average about 5 sins a day...plus I used their online exercise thing to keep track of my walking....plus when the baby is awake I go up and down my stairs for about 10 minutes at a time.....and I walk at least 3 miles aday.....sometimes up to 5.....plus I stand for hours working....so I get plenty.....

I haven' seem RC diet stuff.....but my fear is that with many diets you have to buy all new stuff....where as with SW you don't. and i have the books and recipe books too...there is a really nice veg curry one I like in it with yoghurt and instead of rice I would put it on a bed of purple broccoli spears....mmmmmmmmmmm.......

again I am lucky...my little master chef cooks for me....so when I have finished bathing and read and putting the kids to bed at night....tea is ready...so I all is done and eaten before 7pm....normally by 6:45pm so I am not eating anything too heavy before bed.

kelly,

thanks about my name.....you can call me Jenn if you like...:D:D:D:D

I got my MIL coming over to stay for a few days.....not sure how that it going to go...last time she stayed she managed to really P both me and my OH off...so I haven't invited her around for over 2 weeks....but I reckon she may have learned her lesson to not give me dirty looks....and in front of my OH as well who happened to call her up on it! *LOL*

I hate drinking milk so god help me when i have my op lol..i like it warm with sugar in, only way i can drink it. I do have the portion pots from rc but found the slimming world newish extra easy(non of that red and green day stuff) really easy to follow and have quite a few slimming world books as well. I'm wondering if i'd be disiplined enough to weigh at boots and keep the print outs as well! maybe i'll print them on here every week, u can all be my weight loss ladies! xx

ffbb Where abouts in the us are you from?, my grandad is from the south..my mum was a war baby!

Jenn I think you're right about the step-dads being related...pretty much every thing yours did, so did mine.
This makes me want to try even harder this week to do my bit so that I can be of better help to you and everyone else.

We are going to overcome the consequences of losing trust and love of our own bodies and you are right, we really are the lucky ones at the end of the day. xx

Kelly we are going to have a good go at this in time for Christmas...my OH and me both want to lose about a half stone before Xmas and I secretly hope we can do more than that but 7lbs is achievable I think.
Providing I don't go having a lot of crapola every weekend that is!
Well that's my challenge this week :)

Hey Jacqui! You are right, a lot of us ..probably most of us had had extreme circumstances...and I guess that means extreme weight problems.
Thank goodness we are able to support each other and have the understanding of what it's like to go through that stuff but come out of it , really strong and determined to make the best of life x

Thanks jenn:D, i hate my mil..but that's a whole other thread lol

I had a good childhood, although reading some of the things you all say, bits are similar to my mum's childhood.

I was thin until i left school started working and could buy no end of rubbish with my wages!.

My life has just gone bad since i hit adulthood and food has been my saviour in some really dark times...me and food have a love hate relationship..love the taste but hate what it does to me! xx

Need...exactly...well I am going to try and go for 2 lbs a week....I think I can do that....but I know I will put on at least a pound or two once I am able to eat something again....but I will do my best.....promise.....

Kelly-I am from texas...deep deep south!! *LOL* my MIL I think I would need a proper blog....*LOL*she isn't evil....just the devil in disguise....I am sure she just hides the pitch fork behind her back and waits till I leave the room to chuck it at me...*LOL*

well Kelly--- I think the boots weigh in is a good I deal...or if you can maybe stretch to it there is a perfect salter scales they I used..they are fantastic...it measures you BMI, how much water your body is ( in theory I guess) and how many calories it would take to sustain you current Body weight...and it keep a record...you can then use the memory stick it comes with (usb) and then you cna download it to a graph on the computer so you can see you patterns and loses....( it comes with all the software) It is about £32...I think....great piece of kit.....

If you do the SW you can use the cups....to help you get used to it...and if you do SW I will too.....and you do RC..well I will still do SW but we can maybe work together since I think we are the only Pre-ops....( not trannies- for anyone who is reading) *LOL*

warm milk with sugar....um....never tried that....not sure it is my thing...but they don't say the milk has to be cold.....but I am sure no sugar!! *LOL*

I wont add the sugar lol i promise! Yes great i will follow sw but use the rc pots for my cereal and rice/pasta as i eat hugeeee portions of those. What day shall we weigh? The scales sound brill, might ask santa to lower those down my chimney, i do have some that do body fat but have lost the instructions so just weigh on them.

I always knew my grandad was from the south which as a youngster i always wondered what his reaction would be if i turned up on his doorstep lol. He has passed though, i got told by a medium who knew his name and lots of things about him and my grandma...but i'm a believer. He did apologise to my mum for not looking after her and he was standing hanging his head in shame apparently...bit mad!

Neen---- I am thinking I talk too much....WAYYYYYYYYYYYY too much!! *LOL*

why not start with no crappola this weekend.....if you were doing every weekend...move to every other and then to just once every 3 weeks.....a small something isn't a big deal...but loads of small somethin, somethin's aren't so smart....

Neen with you on the rubbish at weekends..it's x factor munchies for us! not much talent anyway so no x factor no munchies..or i could have some soup instead i suppose. Could you not have a very low cal pud or some non sugar sweets? carrot sticks wont cut it will they!! I always had treat night the night i got weighed, the dr at the hospital was really shocked i'd get weighed then go to the chip shop....he was also quite shocked most of the class did it too. When i got the notes of my appointment back in a letter he had put it in there and stated that this must change..did make me laugh!.

Kelly,

Cool...it's a deal....how about a friday weigh in....?

here is a link for the scales..I got them from argos but you may be able to get them cheaper somewhere else...I will have a look in a bit...

interesting stuff about your granddad....I don't know my real grandfather ..I know who he is but nothing really about him. My "step" grandfather died a few years ago...but he was originally from mexico.

I went to see a psychic a few time...she told me I was going to get pregnant within 6-8 weeks...and I did...and it took me 8 years to get pregnant. But I didn't believe her.....and as it happened I had to have a check on my kidneys and was under an aesthetic and the nurse asked If I could be pg...I said...well yeah I COULD but after trying for so long and nothing I doubt it. I was actually in the middle of my cycle so I didn't want to test as I thought it would say no even if I were. Sooo to make a long story longer....after a few weeks from the scaning....I mentioned it to my OH and we did a check and I found out I was PG...but I started to lose the baby the same night......and it was gone.......

But on the plus size...i realised I was finally able to get PG...and made my OH dream by not giving him a chance to breath for all the s*x that was going on for the next month...and boom...6 weeks later I found out I was 6 weeks PG......and my eldest is here to testify to it!! *LOL* so there is something in the whole psychic thing for me.....not completely...but it was a very weird coincidence. The lady had also told me to be careful...so I wonder if she knew it was going to happen. She also has always told me I would have 2 kids one boy and one girl....but I have 2 boys...*LOL*

can't be right all the time....well except for me...I am always right....ask my OH!! *LOL*

sorry for the long post...

but you can see how the slimming world stuff is still there...*LOL*

Jenn and Kelly, I think it is blooming FANTASTIC that you two are considering virtual online dieting together...that is what we need you know, band buddy system for every stage..

Well I feel like we are already getting together a great bunch of buddies and I hope we can really start to keep each other going and overcome any obstacles.

Girls, the kid of treats I had are just plain downright lunacy really...It's like the Jekyll and hyde of the foodie world with me sometimes.
It's so annoying because I know what good foods work really well with me and I know eating things like cream slices (yeah not just one, TWO) this weekend is just foolish and not worth it at all.

Still I am changing what I do every day , including weekends now and I hope to goodness I can remain strong!

well neen---it's great that you know what works and what doesn't....i don't need you teach you how to suck eggs....so you know where to start....and we are 100% BEHIND you all the way.....so, what's done is done....it's monday...it's a new week.... this weekend...no treats....get some fruit if you want sugar.....or get some other HEALTHY nibbles or the tuna you suggested....try it with a little bit of that new ( if you like it) salad cream with the lemon and black pepper...1/2 teaspoon- 1 teaspoon would be just fine and then you have a bit of protein as well...which will take more time to go through and hopefully stave the hunger away longer. I know you can do it...7 lbs is a great goal to move to between now and christmas.....

Well I think Kelly and I are in the same boat at the moment in wanting to lose some weight before surgery....so why not have a buddy.....

Kelly....I will have a look shortly to see if I can find those scales somewhere else cheaper... I am going to check out the costs of SW online...I think you can get a 3 months free and the fourth month is like £10...but I think I will do that....it would cover my time before surgery, and I will stop the subscription just before the surgery....so I am not paying out...but I need to check on it.

Also my MIL needs to lose weight too...so I am going to do the shopping and make her dinners up with mine and then take them to her for the week that way she will have nothing in but what I give her so she can't cheat.....But she can't walk far either so her exercise is limited...might try and get her to at least do some arm stuff whilst she is sitting down....and some basic leg stuff too ....silly old c*w *LOL*

Neen- you've got us to we will all I am sure do our best to keep you up and running...but remember...it is down to you at the end of the day ...you're there and we aren't...but I will be watching you in spirit...so keep that in mind!! hehehe:D
