BANDERS UNITE ! Get to know each other chatter !

One of my incisions is right where my bra goes. Doctor said I can go back to work Monday because I have a desk job. Not sure what to do about the bra thing. :(

I had an incision in the same place and I kept it covered with a dressing until it was fully healed as it kept rubbing. it took longer to heal than expected as one of the dissovable stitches did not dissolve and had to be removed by the surgeon at my first post op appointment. It was unusual circumstances though.

Hey Sarah I'm doing ok
If anyone wants a treadmill let me know I'm going to be getting rid of mine as I need to downsize house wise and there will definatley be no room for it in the new place.

Have yourselves a great week everyone xxxxxx

Oh Rache I might be interested in the treadmill, pm the details hun - ta x

well i've been on the scales and i was 16.3 day of surgery and this morning i am 15.13!!!! i'm over the moon with that. I did have doubts towards the end of my pre op if a band would work for me as two weeks on the pre op and i only shifted 5 pounds!! but mr super was very impressed with my pale and shrunken liver so he knew i'd stuck to it anyway. Feels ace to be on the losers bench finally and i'm looking forward to getting this weight shifted finally. I can't remember the last time i weighed in the 15's i'm sure it must of been 14 years ago after i had my first baby.

I ordered the book gastric band and beyond and it's arrived this morning so shall have a squiz at that and let you know what i think..hope your all well happy and having good results on the scales xx

Well done Abi. I have the book gastric band and beyond and it is a very interesting read so far.

Hi Marie. It feels cold from my window even though the sun is shining. I am ok. I just saw your post on exercise and your weight loss so far. That is some loss - how have you done it? Have you had a letter for your next appointment yet?

Yes i agree, its absolutely freezing.. mind you.. it makes me walk quicker! ha ha..

Okay? Are you sure? If you need anything, let me know..

Yeah i'm doing okay.. weight loss at the moment is slow, but i think that's down to my fluid intake not being so high.

Erm, to be honest.. i've just lived my life by that advice leaflet..

Yeah it came this morning.. 11th March.. Have you had yours come through?

i've ordered it. i look forward to reading it.

MORNING ALL :wavey:

Thanks Rachel it wasn't half as bad as i thought it would be xx

I hope they took extra good care of you cos of the filming. Was that all ok btw? they didn't invade your privacy or anything did they?

Can't wait to hear all about it. Glad liver was small too. Just goes to show two weeks is more than enough to get the liver small, not the 6 weeks I had to do (torture me thinks)

Really pleased you're all done and dusted. It's not as bad as you think it will be is it. Bit of discomfort afterwards with the gas and few cuts, I coped quite well if I recall and I'm a complete wuss when it comes to pain.xxx

You're best to come see it Maz tbh I'm so rubbish at explaining. I'm just up the road from you so let me know when and I'll put the kettle on.xx

So I'm having a rough day. I REALLY want some food. :( I just want something solid.

I'm on Phase1 or the liquid portion of the diet immediately following surgery. I have three days left till I can do soft solids. Main problem is that I'm feeling yucky and weak. I feel like if I just had something with a little more sustenance to it I'd feel better. That I'd get over this last little bit that's keeping me down.

Any advice on what I could do that would make me feel a little more stable for lack of better word?

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Andi when I was on liquids if it all got too much I had a dairylea triangle. It felt great cos it had texture. I mushed it round my mouth till it was liquid tho so didn't swallow it whole. its such an important time for you atm as you're healing. Are you having soups?x

Thank you Tranquil. I started reading the book yesterday, although i started at chapter 9 post op i will read it all but wanted to see how she coped.

I think they were very gentle with me because of it being shown on tv lol which is all in my favour. i cried when i dropped the kids off at my mums but then was very calm and joking about at the hospital the camera man kept reminding me i was having surgery and i was too calm, he said some people they'd filmed got off the bed and wanted to leave the hospital in terror! I just lay there thinking it'll be over soon and if others have done it i'll be ok, and i was. I had filming the day before which is quite tiring really and i could of done without it the day before surgery but it's done now for 6 weeks at least;).
I have had not had any gas pain as such although i am very windy lol..really weird it seems harder to get out..i'm sure you understand what i mean lol:D.

Hope your well xx

I had my surgery the day after you and i have to do liquids for 4 weeks! then 2 weeks puree and then 2 weeks mash, i think 18th march i can have "normal food" that's my birthday so i shall celebrate with something nice like a crispbread lol.

Are you not having soup? i am, don't think i'd survive without it. I have 125ml of slimfast for my breakfast and that fills me. For lunch and tea i have half a can of soup strained if it's got bits in and drinks inbetween. Must admit i did nick a skip crisp off one of my children yesterday just to feel a crunch but they melt in ur mouth anyway so didn't last long but was nice to bite.

Oh and i was uber excited when i had one of my chewy multi vitamins and it was like a jelly sweet..highlight of my day lol..oh i'm so sad:D.

Have you noticed how many food adverts and tv programmes there are on tv when you can't eat..amazing i don't mind watching them tho lol..just makes me drool.
Hope your having a better day today.
