Oh chrisa! what a day ahead for you, with a cough and all, and your mum in hospital... Hope her graft goes well.. If I were you, and you are still coughing at school and feeling rough, I would call it a day and go home anyway. At least by going in you have showed willing, but maybe you need a day or two in bed to recover...
Will let you know what happens with the GP...

Best of luck Amanda, n yes if feel unwell will come home. xx

Shelley love the new picture was that this weekends going out pic? xx looking lovely xx

Amanda, good luck today at the gp. i hope he can help you.

shelley, lovely new pic and belated congrats on getting into a size 20. i dream of that one day :D

Chrisa.. Glad you decided to go home.. You couldn't have worked feeling as bad as you do. I'm sure you need a couple of days in bed to try and shake it off rather....

Well I'm just back from the doctors, and he examined me and said I am totally bunged up and that it was not far off an impaction.. He has now prescribed ducolax instead of the lactulose, and he said to carry on taking the magnesium hydrachloride also, and use the glycerine suppositories... He said if nothing has transpired in the next 2 days, then they will have to admit me to hospital and put me under and sort it out that way.. Really hope it doesn't come to that, really don't want to have another stint in hospital, especially for something like this... He seems to think that I am just one of the unlucky ones that are affected this way....
Anyway, let me know how your mums graft goes, and hope you feel better soon xx

Pleased you went Amanda and lets hope all the tablets and suppositories work, just heard from my dad they have just left hospital first part done wed to go now thats when the graft will be done, but it won't be too big bout size of thumbnail i would have thought. My daughter has come home today and she is still not well either she has gone back to docs, feels like something sitting on her chest, and pain in kidney area and her ears are bad. We are dropping like flies here. I got to work and two off in the english dept. so i thought just go home and keep warm. Apparently there are a few staff off. xx Take care and hope for explosion soon x

Thanks guys, yes the photo is from Friday night. I've added a couple more photos to my after surgery album. A couple from my holiday :)

I'll keep everything crossed that you don't have to have that done Amanda, fingers crossed everything starts moving very soon!

Sorry you are still feeling unwell too Chrisa, hope things improve and that things go ok with your Mum today too.

Di, you will be there before you know it. Just 6 months ago I was a size 36, this bypass stuff is amazing :D

Menu plan for today -

Breakfast - Pineapple
Lunch - Ham salad
Dinner - Scallop and vegetable stir fry
Snack - More Pineapple, maybe some half fat cheese.

Tea and water as usual.

oooh amanda, i so hope the earth moves for you soon.

Shelley, i was a size 36 in may, i'm now in 30 but if i squeezed i'd fit in a 28 i'm sure and i feel fantastic about that. i only have 1 pair of trousers that fit, the others just wont stay up!!!!:) i am loathed to buy new stuff as i know it'll be too big in a couple of months. i'm just working down through the sizes i already have in my wardrobe. i'm lucky in one way as i dont go out much at all (i have a degenerative spine & cant get out) so i only need a few clothes.

i have some salmon but have never cooked it before (yep i'm in my 40's and have never cooked salmon!!!!). can anyone give me any tips/recipes??

thank you

I wouldn't worry I am in my 40's and have never cooked salmon either. am sure Shelley will give you a recipe, think you can poach it or cook it in foil in oven lightly brushed with oil or butter n lemon, but don't quote me on that its probably wrong I know my father likes it, but Me n hubby wouldn't eat it. xx

Lovely salmon recipe

Marinade the fillet in soy sauce and some lazy ginger and garlic. Then put in over proof dish and 180 in oven for 20, maybe with some foil over the top to keep moist. Serve with salad, potatoes or veg xxxx

That's a fantastic drop, I bet you would probably find yourself getting into smaller size than you expect already, when you don't check often you can sometimes miss out on clothes you don't expect yourself to fit in. I've already spent too much on my wardrobe since the op and I've lots of clothes at different sizes from the years of yo yo diets but I don't think I've got anything smaller than a 20 so will have to get a few things but should be able to shop in some cheaper shops soon :)

I cook my salmon in the microwave - it steams in its on juices. It depends on the size of the salmon but it should take a few minutes, do it a minute at a time and it will all be a nice pale pink when it's cooked. The Chinese style recipe Clar shared is good, I tend to do something similar to that a lot or some philidelphia extra light on top is great :) You can baked it in the oven with the phili on top too if you wrap it in bacofoil. Enjoy, it's so good for you and I find it goes down well :) xx

thank you ladies, i'll give it go. i have philli light but think i'll try it on its own to start :D

Mayamoo here done my usual trick of losing more weight tge day AFTER my official weight in.... 1. 3/4 lbs to be exact! What's all that about????

Sod's law is what that is! Lol well done, count it towards next weigh in :) x

good evening all!! Hope everyones day went well... Chrisa hope you are feeling better after a day at home, and that your daughter got herself sorted out at the doctors... You really are getting it all at once, and with your mum at the hospital today also.. Maybe it will all calm down once wednesday is out of the way and she has had her graft!!

Well I have taken my new laxative along with the old one but am in so much pain for about 2-3 hours after I eat. I literally had to go to bed after I ate lunch at 1pm and couldnt move for the pain not until around 5pm this evening, and haven't dared eat anything since then... The pain has gone now, but I know it will come back soon as I eat.. Really hope these laxatives work tonight or tomorrow so I dont have to go into hospital... But I know a part of me is so scared that it is going to hurt to go to the loo that I am not helping matters...

Todays menu
B 100mls skim Milk 80gms strawberries
L 100gms Rump steak, edamame beans & tomatoes
D Nothing
S Nothing

Protein 70gms - Calories 380 - Carbs 17gms - Fat 9gms
Drinks - 25gm Protein shot - litre NAS - cup tea - 50ml prune juice

Amanda try a warm bath n hot tea to relax a little.... Try try try to get your fruits n water intake up.....I need more myself or I can't and to be honest I take a dulcolax two or three times a week to make sure things keep moving ....

Thanks maya... The GP prescribed dulcolax today so have taken 2 hefty doses today along with the magnesium hydroxide and have used glycerine suppositories but nothing as yet.. I will definitely try the warm bath and hot cuppa I think, but really too scared to get the pain again to try eating anything else today, but if I can just go once and sort of start afresh, then will definitely stop worrying about the carbs so much and up my fruit intake... My GP said that the high protein low carb diet has made this problem worse.....
