bypass daily menu -

Hi everyone, hope you're all having a good weekend. Iv been to Newcastle today looking for a new work bag, didn't get one coz I'm so bloody fussy so might try metro centre tomorrow
Pretty bad day for food
B rice crispies
L fridge raiders
D home made Thai chicken cherry with rice ( very small portion )
I'm not measuring how much protein etc I'm consuming, should I be? Xxx

Did your team suggest it? I would if measure it occasionally to make sure you are getting enough. Teams tend to suggest between 60-80g's a day. It good for help to prevent muscle wastage as can happen as we have rapid weight loss. Great for the hair and aid weight loss too, when you are having a high protein diet you want to know you are making sure you are losing fat rather than muscle. If you aren't into counting calories and nutrition (some people just don't like doing it or some dietitians don't recommend it) it might be worth just doing it once a week for the day to get a general idea :) x

I suppose it is up to the individual, but I need to feel in control of what Im eating so therefore keep a food diary and record protein, calories, carbs, & Fat on a daily basis. I can see then if I am getting enough protein, and also keep control of how many carbs I am consuming, so for me that works.... I also think a food diary is a good way to be able to record any food that you find difficult to eat, or that causes a bad reaction etc... I wasn't a person to keep records, but I now find writing a food diary something I enjoy doing... Maybe try it and see dimond??

Thanks ladies I think I'll give it ago xxx

Dimond at Srh the dietician told me just do it by portions e,g
I count milk as one as i have it in my tea all day long, 1 cheeses triangle, philadelphia spread, meat, cooked meat (fOR sandwich or wrap) 1 Yoghurt, 1 egg these i count a s1 protein, 1 small bag of fridge raiders, each pack tells y9ou what a recommended daily dose or portion should be so if you unsure do it like that even if i havent eat it all i know its a portion, I don't weigh or measure anything now. I also try n make sure i have a combo of 4 fruit n veg just bout every day, carbs is my prob, its the one thing i have to restrict, after years of having a carb of some sorts every meal, e.g. bread, rice, pasta, potato, its hard habit to break but am doing ok. good luck luvva xx

Hey folks had a busy few days!

Alton towers again yesterday, went on everything twice so today I'm rosy cheeked, aching limbrd and horse from the giggle/screamathon

Elijah came over last night and I made my fave salad of lamb with rocket pomegranate n mint, also did steamed fine beans, asparagus and a fage garlic dip. He's a body builder so he also had a meal of baked sweet potato n grillled chicken! Yesterdays lunch was Cajun grilled chicken breast salad n brekkie a pack of melba toast en route to the towers

Don't think I have lost this week if so won't be much its star week n had a massive loss last Eeek so roll on next when it should show again lol.

Got weighed, 1 1/4 lbs lost so not too bad x

Awful morning today, mother nature is being a b***h, so I'm doped on pain killers after awful pains in all my joints and nausea/fainting episode. :(
A little better now so drinking hot tea in my pajamas and have a batch of apple streusel cupcakes on the go in the oven for the work peeps (cupcakes with chunks of apple n cinnamon with crumble topping) I'm trying new recipes for Xmas as I want to gift them out, making a spiced orange and eggnog batch next week! Work peeps are my guinea pigs!

Oh peanut cookie Chrisa, I could eat one of those right now. Anyone got any recommendations for sweet cravings? I never used to eat sweet things pre op but I think the whole never again thing is playing on my mind right now. Anyone tried anything like baking a cake with sweetener or something like that? My mum is diabetic and I do all her cooking as her carer so thought she might appreciate it anyway and I can just taste a bit. I looked up some recipes but they all seem it have sugar in them which seems strange? x

Hope you're feeling better soon maya x

Oh yes just read that, hope you are feeling better hun, the cakes sound lovely. You'll have to make diabetic versions :D xx

Thanks dimond, I'm ok now painkillers have taken effect :)

Shelley I make a version of Eton mess with strawberries, fage and some mini crushed meringue ( half a meringue nest max) its not obey sweet but feels like a pudd!

A pancake, fruit n sweetened fage would be doable too

I got the peanut cookies from Asda they are 90 calories each and have peanuts on top so I try and count them in as protein n carb then don't feel too guilty, they are lovely x
