Morning !!!! Last day of school today !! Woop then countdown to the balloon in 4 weeks !!

It's been very very hot !

Hey there :)
4 weeks!!! Wow!!!
Exciting!
How are u doing with the weight? Has it budged?
I'm so all over the place but I'm in the 12's!!! Only by a smidge but I'm there :)
I've gone back to basics!
Kicked that weapon of a woman to the kirb!!! The one that knocked my confidence n all that. So today is the beginning to the end!
Have my little floating friend in the belly for another 8 weeks or so and I want to be extremely close to 11stone!!!
That's an extra stone more than my original goal!
I'm back running today and yesterday!
My coordinator was great help yesterday in sending me out the door in the right direction!
Lets hope I don't scoot down the wrong road again :) I'm not going to gain any of that unwanted weight back again!!!!

Yve. Did u get the book I sent?

carol b :)

Wow you seem to be doing very well.
Do you still only have the balloon.
I looked at the balloon option, firstly as it is half the price of the sleeve and also less drastic, I am leaning more tothe sleeve however as I am afraid that I will regain after it is removed.
I actually looked at the spatz balloon, it can stay in for 1 year.
have my consultation soon and will then proceed. As you said the balloon posts are few and you tube does not have much infor either.

Good luck, no advice, had a friend that had the balloon and the nausea was fine with the meds she was discharged with.

Still only have the balloon hun. Only a few folks know that I have it in. 5 of those have asked why do I want to go for the as planned bypass since I have done so well in my loss so far and have proved that I can do it on my own..... My reply is simple. I have no problem in losing the weight as I have done so many many countless times before in the past. It's just so easy for me to put it all+ back on again. I am fed up living life like that along with all the health issues that have tagged along with it. I have been handed a lifeline as regards the bypass and it would be foolhardy of me not to grab it with both hands.
I am still classed as super obese despite my massive loss of ni on seven and a half stone. I don't even get to morbidly obese class 1 for another 4st yet ..So yes I have done remarkably well up to now but there is still a huge mountain to climb. I think to be honest that people have got so used to me being extra large as they have only known to be that and to see me after this drastic weight loss is a wow for them but they don't see the big mound that is still in front of me and are genuinely shocked when I tell them that I haven't even lost half of what I need to in order to get to my target.
If only I could have maintained those earlier losses then I wouldn't have been "the ticking time bomb" (as 3 different doctors phrased it) at my heaviest ..but life's not like that. I need the safety net of the bypass there for if /when I feel my reserve slipping.
Sorry for the long winded reply but what I think I am trying to say is that for me the balloon would not have sufficed but that's my personal perspective muhsi. If I had been given the option I wouldn't have had it inserted at all but would have took the bypass on its own. Alas because of risk factors this was never ever going to be lol.
Go and discuss your future WLS with your team and be guided by what they tell you but you also need to be honest about how you feel as regards the options you are given. I am lucky in that the NHS is funding this for me whilst you are paying so getting your choices right at th start is going to be cost effective ;) xx

Hi thanks for asking carol... Nope, it's not moving.. I haven't even had any procedure yet... 3 weeks time, but since march I've only lost 4 kg:( on my own strength. It's disheartening, knowing I'm trying hard.. And that basically I've been I'll for a fortnight and eaten hardly Anything!!

The only good thing I suppose is I haven't put any on!

Everyone is well and feeling good !

Thanks treacle :)

Rebecca don't worry. As long as you are sticking to your plan the weight will shift. Our bodies do not like giving up its fat stores without a fight. Its in survival mode preferring to burn the excess muscle instead, usually in the places that we don't measure ie the arms and legs.
It will do this until it realises that it has no other option but to use its vital stores... So stick with the plan because it will eventually move ;) xx
