Countdown to Balloon Launch

CB4 Well done on getting into a pair of skinnies. I have a long way to go yet before I can contemplate those :rotflmao: congrats hun:)x
Thanks for the words of support too they were much needed. Hubby also could feel my disappointment but he certainly put it in to perspective for me today....
He calculated that I have lost 28kg in total. We keep marine fish and today we took delivery of a 22kg tub of salt. He topped up the tub with a further 6kg of salt (28 kgs) and then he asked me to lift this.... OMG I can not believe that I was carrying that weight around with me!! I could not lift it a millimetre off the floor! What is shocking to me is that I have another 3 of those tubs to lose:eek: No wonder I was so ill . So people if you are ever feeling despondent and need a reminder of just how far you have came in your journey try something similar... I can assure you that it will open your eyes ;) x

Foods I can not eat

Ok all those ballooners out there are there any foods that you just can not tolerate?
I avoid sticky foods as a precaution but I am finding that apart from bananas I just can't eat fruit. No matter how much I chew chew chew oranges, plums, grapes, tomatoes, apples etc etc you can guarantee I will meet them again when I am sick several hours later  I mentioned this to the dietician on Monday and she thinks it is probably my anatomy and how the balloon is lying within my stomach... Food is getting caught behind it.
I can only figure that I get away with banana because its denser and doesn't "float" if you get what I mean while the rest float high in my tum?? Found that peppers are affecting me the same as most fruit do when after a very uncomfortable night battling queasiness I was sick this morning mostly liquid but there mocking me was the chewed up undigested peppers I had eaten 14 hours earlier! Purée veg /fruit is not appealing to me right now but is this the way I'm going to have to go? I love eating fresh unmeddled with fruit :(

I haven't found anything I can't tolerate just yet. But I can't have gluten and dairy so I would be quite limited any way.
I would like to keep loosing weight quick but we all know its better coming off slowly. It's tough when ye work hard and it doesn't show on the scales!
But it is a fantastic idea to look back and see what u have done in total!!!!
I'm down 80lb - 36.3kg in two years!
That's much better in lb!!! :)
Summers getting closer and the clothes are getting smaller :) love it :)
Xx

Yes lbs defo sounds better lol and you have done well with your weight loss and you are right, the slower the better ;).
One thing I have noticed is my skin is no longer itchy and dry any more until this weekend when I ate a quarter of a pitta and wham back came the itch and hotness. As this was the first wheat product I have eaten since the balloon I'm beginning to wonder if I possibly have a wheat allergy. I have had my suspicions before but it certainly is looking likely. Going to leave it a week or so before trying again and will take it from there.
My scales are still stuck but my leggings are baggy at the rear  so something's happening lol.. I honestly thought I had put them on the wrong way :rotflmao:

That's fantastic femfrankie!!!! Baggies the better :) i can't wait to go shopping for my holiday!!!!
Going on the 2nd of April but I don't want to get anything yet! I want to loose another 11lb before I go so hopefully my clothes will be much better on then! Doubt I will be in a size 14 by then. But still, I can wait n see :)
Yea that sounds like a wheat intelorance!
But bread and all that can be so bad in ur system so it can't do any harm to eliminate them.
Sometimes if u eliminate them for a few months then introduce them slowly, you will be able to tolerate them again!
I've come to the conclusion! If u don't clear the clutter in ur life then the weight loss is slower but once you clear out it starts to speed up again. So I went the dumps with 5 car loads last week. Just from the shed!
This week it's potty training for the 2yr old!!! Should be rid of nappies next week fingers crossed :)

OMG potty training .. If there was any part of motherhood that I hated that was it. Lol
Well next month (April) I start looking after my granddaughter while her mum goes back to work full time. I have no doubt that running after a very active 7 month old (hahaha I wish) will soon have me burning the fat off :). To be honest just losing the 4 &1/2 stone that I have over the past six months has made a tremendous difference to my enjoyment of being a grandmother :)

You crack me up! Hope you saw my other post on your weight loss. You have done amazingly. If I loose what you have lost already, I would be back to an normal weight! You have done fantastic. I have stalled again. We just need to persevere and drag out bodies kicking and screaming back to healthy weights again. We can do it!

Rose you have done amazingly well too. Well done you. you are not far off the 2 stone mark now and yes we will get there ...but... Kicking and screaming?! My body is going absolutely apoplectic at the whole idea of discarding its excess baggage lol well it's just about to get a slap in the face.. Since it's a beautiful day I'm going out to walk the dog and make my body burn that lard!.... Just think New York and designer clothes Rose ... I'm sticking with my knee high boots lol

Thanks femfrankie, I am getting really nervous now because I am beginning to get close to the wall that I have reached in previous attempts.

I will be coming over to do some Livingston shopping when I get a bit smaller, we must meet up!

I seen a pic on Facebook the other day and 6 women weighed 65kg each. There was a size 10,12,12,14,16 and 18. It was crazy to see!!!
My two sisters are the same height as me and both of them are a size 18, I'm a 16 and they are both lighter than me!!!!!!
Eh hello!!!!! That's not on!!!!!!
I want to be the smallest and lightest for once in my life! I've always been the biggest!
How is it possible??????????
Think I will have to start getting bones removed at this rate to be lighter than them lol :)
Rant over he he :)

You will be just fine Rose you may plateau but keep remembering that its gotta come off eventually just as long as you stick to the regime. It's the inner demons in our heads that fail us at those times... Just ignore them! You can do it!
Meeting up would be great so when ever you feel ready just date :)

Funnily enough my younger sister and I were discussing a similar topic yesterday. She has to manage her weight constantly but unlike me she can do this successfully. Now she is stunningly beautiful, not overweight at all, size 10/12, jogs for miles everyday & regularly enters half marathons. Yet according to her BMI she is clinically obese?? She can't figure it out and to be honest neither can I. She can't blame large boobies as she doesn't have any lol. She doesn't have large thighs arms or anything to be honest she is positively svelte like so go figure?!

I have only briefly visited the dizzy heights of being thin and that was at a time when BMI was a motoring school but I can honestly say I have never felt thin. I was looking through some old photos of me a few days ago and I looked just like my sister does now. I commented to my husband at just how thin I was and he retorted yes I know but you didn't recognise it then..you still complained about being fat. I couldn't argue because he was right, I did have this mental block that just couldn't see how good I actually looked. I will never recapture that image as I was 19 then and i had just given birth to our son. I think at 51 I would be kind of pushing it!
My mother always used to say "you've got big bones" ... Is there any truth in that? It's the only explanation I can think off lol

Well I know all trainers and body builders think the body mass index is a load of crap! They go by % of body fat!!!!
Tell u sister to get hers measured and she will feel much better about herself!
Times have moved on and doctors are so set in their ways that they won't accept it!
But of u think about it!!! Personal trainers the majority of them!!! Eat well balanced fresh foods n all that, work out. The me. Are well muscly and a lot of them would be classed as obease if they went by the bmi. But in reality they are in great shape and have as little as 4% body fat!
I have trained to be a personal trainer last year and learned a lot ;)
But it's putting it into practice now!!!!

Don't focus on the past!!! You should think about the future and how you will be a fab looking nanna for ur granddaughters 1st birthday pics and be well able for running around after her and playing with her!

On that we are in complete agreement My ideal weight according to BMI should be 9-9 1/2 stone. Err I don't think so. I have no desire to get below 12 stone. If it happens it happens but I will not persue it. The photos of me are when i was 13 stone and I looked healthy, lean & someone who was over the moon at becoming a brand new mother. I have never ever had faith in the BMI index but unfortunately we have to toe the line when it comes to medical practitioners. Thankfully my surgeon has set no ridiculous goals for me as he thinks I will probably stall/ stop at 14 stone & if that is what I do then so be it .. I would have lost 14 & 1/2 stone by that point ..another me lol and an achievement by itself :).x

Wow!!!! 14 1/2 stone!!!! That's half the size!!! That is unreal!
I have an app on my phone that says I should be 10st 3 to be a normal weight!!!!
No way!!!!!
It's unreal! At the moment in obease! Hello!!! No wonder kids are becoming anorexic!! There has to be a happy medium out there somewhere.
I want to get to 12 stone and would like to think I would be happy then!
I'm due a period and my head is melted!!!! At home with the 2 yr old and he's doing fantastic! No accidents on day two yesterday! He only turned 2 the start of this month so he's doing fantastic! But I don't take too kindly to sitting at home alone!!!! 4 wall syndrome!!! Kills me.
Think I will never get out! The hubby is busy working so don't see much of him at the moment.
I'm so frustrated!!!!!!
But I'm down another 2lb so that's a plus!
Only 3lb to go to be two stone down in two months

My goal weight on here is just within the normal bmi range but in reality I can be about a stone heavier and still be a size 12 and at 5 foot 7, I consider that slim.

My sis in law is a size six and has always been overweight according to bmi as she has been a competitive swimmer for years. She is pure muscle and of course that weighs more.

Yea that's defiantly a normal size!!!

Your sister inn law! Can not believe it! A size 6 and she's not in the right bmi!
That's a joke!
She is Probly the most healthy out if anyone that's a size 6!!!!!

TMI WARNING

The past three days have been truly awful. Im having a constant battle with GERD & feel so nauseous with it. Sleep has been almost impossible too. I fell asleep perched on the edge of the bed last night because I am sooo tired now. I have fought the nausea all weekend refusing to be actually sick but failed big style this morning. Where does it all come from?? Looks like my stomach has gone into massive acid production overdrive as all that came up was liquid but loads and loads of it. It goes without saying though that I feel a little better now it all gone though. My Oomperazole obviously looks like it isn't doing its job any more & wont this morning any how as it is now down the pan! Trying to get a doc appointment this morning but so is everyone else:mad: Wondering if this is my stomach reacting and is now trying to dissolve the balloon out of my system? My oesophagus is burning with the constant regurgitation of stomach acid which is not good at all :( & worried now that I am going to give myself an ulcer at this rate  Hubby has been an absolute rock considering that I have been an utter & total pain to live with the past few days but even his peppermint teas aren't doing the trick.
Ok moan over .. I am going to phone my bariatric nurse for advice later as I can not live with this for much longer let alone a further 5 months!

On a good note I have lost those extra pounds and more and am now in the 22stones :D
But going to wait mid week to record it just in case lol x

God love ye femfrankie!!!! Hope u get an appointment and get sorted soon!!!
That sounds terrible. Have u tried a cuppa peppermint tea? Doesn't work for me but lots of people swear by it!!!
I'm in agony with my troath and ear!!! Haven't got the energy to even try exercise!!!! :(
Fingers crossed for a better day tomorrow

What a pair we make Cb4 lol big hugs to you too and hope you feel much better soon
I have flung everything at it peppermint tea Gaviscon Rennies and nothing is touching it. It honestly felt like my stomach contents where sitting in the oesophagus, that was until I was sick anyway, and what a relief that was. Every burp was a nightmare & my oesophagus feels burnt/raw :( . Been on Oomperazole for 10years now for GERD and a hernia but maybe I need a change as it just don't work any more. xx

Waiting phone call from GP and bariatric nurse for advice now.
