Well I ended up being first on the list so went down at 0930. Woke at 1105 in recovery as they removed the the airway. On ward at 12 midday. Sipping away. Weird weird sensation! Feel tender and utterly exhausted. Falling in and out of sleep. Got myself up though and walked twice to the loo. No bed pan for me. Wanted to be mobile. Feeling ok. Uncomfortable as opposed to agony but it's early yet I guess.

Hope everyone is well xx

Oh so pleased to hear from you Debs and pleased its all over for you. That feeling of those sips of water is the most bizarre feeling I have ever had! Keep sipping and moving but also get your rest. Take care

Great to hear from you Debs been thinking about you all day, keep sipping and having a little walk, they will be round with a cuppa before sleep, I managed one but took me ages. If you need any pain meds have them and try and sleep tonight, doctors should be round in morning, then all being well home tea time, let me know if your not going home as I can pop on to see you if you like, might break the stay a bit. Either way,,glad your on the losers bench, here's to your new life, grab it with both hands, let the good times roll.
Once again so glad for you, happy days

Morning deb how you feeling today x

Congrats Debs, welcome to the losing side

Yay Deb! It's been a marathon but you made it to the end. Can't wait to hear about the next stage of your story..xx

More uncomfortable today. Stomach doesn't like anything going in. Especially liquid paracetamol. Weak as anything. Very poor sleep due to how many people are so poorly on this ward x

Yes Debs I had the same a very poorly lady opposite me had doctors coming to her every half hour through the night she was moved to high dep in the morning I felt sorry for her and the nurses didn't have time for anyone else but on a selfish note I didn't get any sleep then felt poorly all day myself which is why I was glad to leave
Are you coming out today?
Hope your tummy settles and you manage to keep fluids etc down

Well it's Friday 12th. 48 hours since surgery. I cannot say I am completely enjoying the last few days! The pain is more than I had expected and the exhaustion is overwhelming. Being sick with a brand new sleeve is not at all nice and sadly happened every day so far.

The anti sickness medicine actually makes me sick. So they said I can stop it for now.

I have no hunger. I have no energy either though!

I am getting to the loo and bowels and bladder are ok.

The port sites are tense, swollen and tender. Not a surprise I guess.

Came home yesterday at around 3pm. Not 26 hours after the surgery started.

I am holding on to the fact people get through this and it's just a short phase. It's horrid though. I am not able to do much for myself never mind look after my child.

That said - I feel a bit better than yesterday so that's ok

Hope everyone else is well xxxxx

I hope things settle soon, I know you have a lot going on there at home but try hard to rest up.
