December 2014 Surgeries

Exactly 1 week from surgery and I've lost 6lb!

Start weight 20st 13lb (133kg)
Today 18st 8lb (117.9kg)

Total loss (so far) 2st 5lb!!! Whoop!!

Hi everyone, im bypassed! Went down 9-15 and in recovery just after 2 but no beds on ward till 6! Been on a drip and not been off bed yet and I feel like ive been hit by a bus inside lol. The surgeon came round and said all went to plan so happy with that . Started sipping straight away and its really hard not to gulp but it hurts going down if you do, like big chips getting stuck or something. Anyway ill have a litre today then a runny brecky tomorrow then hopefully home to a lighter and healthier me. Good luck to todays oppers and the other Decemberers yet to come. Im on the losers bench "yay" xx

Yay! Glad your all ok been thinking if you Leda. Must feel like weight has been lifted just from getting the op over with :) x
 
Really good to hear that you're out the other side Leda! Glad it went well.
 
Being around one or two people eating isn't a problem but it was a pain when surrounded by hundreds in a packed cinema. I won't recommend that for the third week of pre-op!
 
Hi all, feeling better today, surgeon has just been round and provided my bloods sre ok I should be home this evening. Had a sloppy ready brek this morning and tiny bit of beef stew puree for lunch! It was gorgeous after all the time on lrd and nil by mouth. But so strange, just that and it wad enough, youre not hungry! No pain, still slight sore inside when walking but nothing at all when sat or laid. Still bit tired but very happy. My 5 tiny incisions are disolving too so that was unexpectef and when I get out later on thats it till I see her again in 6 weeks. Good luck to everone else xxx

Hope everyone are doing well whether you are just post op or pre op . Its all worth it! Keep doing your best pre oppers! Post oppers well done and speedy recovery. Best wishes all xx
 
Been bumped off the decemberers bench - just had surgery on 31st cancelled. Surgeon obviously got a better offer. Harrumph!

Aw no!! Your still welcome here katyloo hopefully january it is for you but thats right enoy your christmas :) wish i'd av known last christmas was my last proper dinner i wouldn't av cooked for everyone for a start, what stress it was :/ and really made the most of the dinner!! lol x

You can still be an honorary Decemberer
 
Just been making some pureed food to freeze for next week when I'm home. Is a tablespoon to 1 half about ok per meal? It gives me no information at all on portions in booklet and I know they will tell me in hospital but need some here ready. If anyone can help. Ty x
