December 2014 Surgeries

I'm also worried about this. Only started with sniffles and sneezing yesterday and my surgery is Wednesday! I've a strong feeling they'll cancel when I get there. All the best to you though you still have a chance to recover I think :) x

I'm doing good on milk diet today not hungry! Forced my soup down only an hour ago and still have 1 yoghurt, 2 fruit and just under 2 pints of milk if I want it. Hope its like this for rest of days but won't hold my breath.

Only issue is a cold and a chest infection still. Antibiotics not worked so back to drs tomorrow afternoon. Does anyone know if this could affect my surgery? Ive had this nearly 3 weeks and getting worse. (Could also be why I'm not hungry today?!) I have pre op appointment on Thursday and starting to really worry now. I'm due to be admitted next Tues for surgery following day

I'm also having some cold symptoms and chest congestion. I'm not sure if I should tell my DR. or not for fear that they may delay surgery. Anyone else had this issue??? :confused:
 
Sorry to hear that aswell mys Jones. I have no idea if it will either mines playing havoc with my asthma! Hopefully someone will come along and help us out I put a post on a few days ago but didn't get much response if not I'll update with what my Dr says tomorrow x
 
Thanks jo. My letter with date actually said on the back to ring admissions if anything changes including a cold! Just thought I'd wait until the day in case it gets better. After 3 weeks on milk diet and 15 months waiting for this day you just don't want to believe it's off and start again waiting for a date. I'm all capsules out, please God they work in 1 more day :(

Oh no really? My letter doesn't give any instructions to ring. keeping fingers crossed for you leda. :( hope it all works out for us all x

Hope you feel better soon by the way! My pre op diet was 3 weeks. 2-3 pts milk, 2 fruit, 2 yogs, NAS jelly and a bowl of veg or a salad. Not been too bad but I wouldn't like to have to do it again x
 
Leda - hopefully it will clear up tomorrow but best not to take any chances.

Personally I have a lingering post-nasal drip cough but I'm treating it with a new spray that's helping and I hope helps enough before I travel.
 
Hello! Well day 5 post op and I feel really good today. I think I'm finally getting my head round what I can eat and when and I've even been outside!! :)
 
Good luck Leda for tomorrow. I hope your infection has cleared up.
 
Well been to doctors have a weeks worth of steroids and told to do the whole water in a bowl/steam thing. He said steroids where ok to take when i asked about the surgery next week he simple held both hands up with fingers crossed and shrugged!!! :confused:

Only good news is steroids do tend to work more than the antibiotics with me.

Thank you marcus. Im about the same as yesterday but still hoping to be a bit better. My nose is runny/stuffy but thats it . Still taking stuff. I hope you are fighting fit when it your turn it doesnt half come fast! Will update you in the morning when ive seen anaethetist. Take care x

Bless you, I really hope the steroids get you sorted and everything can go ahead as planned after getting yourself prepared. Steroids always do the job for me rather than antibiotics do fingers crossed x
