December 2014 Surgeries

So disappointed was meant to have surgery tomorrow but got a call cancelling as no beds , will have to wait until January now !!!

Oh no! Not you too! That's three of us now. Inevitable I suppose in the thick of Winter and such pressure on hospital beds. Fingers crossed that it won't be a long wait for you.

So tomorrow is two weeks since surgery. Seems like an age ago. Been a long two weeks. Can finally take off these evil stockings. ;) Hope everyone else is doing well. Had a rather embarrassing moment the other day while walking down our narrow stairs for the postman, got to the bottom of the steps, opened the door and my now loose trousers fell down in front of postman. Weight loss 1 My dignity 0. lol.

Sorry to hear that, hopefully you'll have a revised date soon.

Found you!!!!! Lol, I had a band on 15/12/14 so 1 day post op... Feeling ok... Wondering what to do now. Not hungry at all but tummy rumbling a lot. Have had drinks and soup today, just a small cup. Need to think about intake tomorrow..... Any tips?

Oh and I did 1 week of low calorie food and less than 100g of carbs and 1 week milk diet for my pre-op, ended up loosing 17lb in total !! Knocked 3 points off my bmi in that time.... Really gave me the boost I needed to stay strong on this journey

Take that as a good sign. I find that I tighten the string on my track pants at least 3 times a day. It's like I am shrinking hour by hour. My wife is always telling me to pull them up because they slide down my bum all the time even with making them tighter.

All done. It went smoothly. Took a little longer than usual (90 mins) due to it being a conversion and pouch is nominally larger due to damage but otherwise like any other op.

Not in too much pain. No shoulder pain and a bit from one of the ports.

Congrats onwards and donwards

A bit less bleary. Painkillers wearing off a bit and sometimes a bit of port pain. Nothing worse. I think I could elk around if it was allowed.

Another cancellation here potentially. No beds at hospital for mine on 19th

Find out tomorrow but they trying to accomodate me as I've been on pre op meds and supposed to have lung flushes abd biopsies on the same table. Grrrrr

Congrats Marcus. Hopefully a swift recovery and you'll be back to the UK soon. :)

Just weighed myself. Am feeling so happy right now. I've not gone below 150kg since 2010 (I was 20) despite diet & exercise, I was always stuck above. I'm now 149.4kg = 23.5stone. Am over the moon. Seeing the scale below 150kg was like a dream to me. It has happened. I am so grateful to this wonderful tool that has been given to me. Onwards and downwards she goes!
