Why does water help you lose weight??

It helps flush away fat breaking down. If you don't drink enough the body holds on to it in fear of dehydration. Lots of water flushes away waste including fat particles. Coffee isn't enough either, needs to be water or NAS in water to maximise. So drink drink it is n we will see. X

This will be my main goal today!!!!! :)

Morning peeps :)

Have thought about getting a beer hat for the constant fluids lol I am a week ahead and am finding it easier to drink more now, so the feeling of drowning is no longer there, although still struggling to get the amount of fluids in because i forget to drink. Its easy when busy doing stuff to completely forget. I always know when not had enough, with wee colour too and a lack of having to run lol
So are we going on a fluid drive ? Jenna on here did the same and found her weight did shift easier. So i'm with you girls going to make a more concerted effort to drink drink drink :)

Really pleased you gp happy with your progress ali you have been thru alot hun and you always bouncy bouncy :)

Hello georgie hun hows you doing ?

mawh hugs to all x x x

Brilliant idea with the beer hat!!! I'm trying my best but it's really hard. I feel it fill my pouch up and can't take any more! I've only had 700mls so far :( boo to me!

Thanks Matra, that puts it is perspective! As clever as the surgeons are I don't think they realise that trying to pour 3 litres of fluid into a wee egg sized pounch is impossible. At least right now! Xx

I have a 15ml pouch and constant sipping is the key at first! I promise it does get easier! :) x

Welcome fellow febber :) good for you getting through the stages. It seems every surgeon gives different advice as to how long to stay on liquids, purée and mash for. I'm still throwing a strop that mine says liquid for 4 weeks :( longest 4 weeks ever! Xx

It is hard to move through the stages. I worry that I have not got the consistency correct and I will "break" my new pouch / stomach. I am looking forward to eating a crunchy and juicy Pink Lady apple. Apple puree is just NOT the same!!!

I feel so awful today on several counts (none of which I will bore you with) but my emotions got the better of me and I ate half a tin of tuna, a slice of cheese and half a cup of soup and when I write it like that it doesn't sound so bad but I then went to the next level and ate a banana. I am having a food coma, I feel so sick, and sick with myself. My tummy feels distended and massive, I feel hot and I've had terrible toilet habits for the past hour. I feel disgusted with myself. I feel so full and revolting and can't believe I have done this to myself. My hubby is out and I know he will be disappointed with me too. I'm suppose to be on soup for another week! What chance do I have when I sabotage my effects just because of a bad day :( too much food too soon is such a gluttonous wretched feeling.

Going to go for a long walk with the dog today I think but feeling better now after last nights shenanigans. I am definitely not ready for anything but soup I think so need to embrace it for another week to get to my 4 weeks post op. Not having a day like yesterday ever again! Tummy spasms continued all night really. Serves me right

Don't beat yourself up. Put it as a lesson learned having dumped.
Xxx

Thoroughly agree with 2nd timers comments about not beating yourself up. We have all had WLS because each and everyone of us has issues with food, and just because the lovely suregeons have performed wonderful surgeries on us and found a solution, we are not all going to wake up "cured" of our relationship with food, and the fact that we all have to eat to survive.

We have all fought our battles for years, and years and the only solution I have found that works for me is literally a day at a time. Luckily I am a corward with a HUGE fear of vomiting and pain, so I am getting through this honeymoon period of loss of appetite by probably eating too little which is just as bad as my nutrion intake is through the floor.

I think we beat ourselves up far too much, when we really should be praising ourselves and each other.

Wishing you a better day Georgie123 (and hopefully you will look back and laugh at the time you "gorged" yourself on 1/2 tin of tuna, a slice of cheese, 1/2 a cup of soup and a banana - I wouldn't even have bothered getting out of bed for that pre-op but could demolish a whole box of jaffa cakes!!!!!!).

Arrrrrrrgggghhhh I'm dumping :( freezing shivers, feel sick, tummy ache , loo ridden :(( went to school lunch with my son. Tried the best I could, had mash n grated cheese.....feel awful. Need to sleep. Like an iceberg :((( bugger it brrrrrrr eek

Oh no! I wonder what bought that on, wouldn't have thought either mash or cheese could make you dump! Could it have been something you ate earlier? Hoping you feel much better very soon! Xxxx
