February 2014 Surgeries

I broke the rules today. I ate some cottage cheese, tasted like the best thing in the world to me after all the clear soups. I'm so fed up of the liquid stage! Only ate half a ramekin as felt too full up but by god was it good! :)

Don't feel bad. Listen to your body. We all go at a different pace. Your body will tell u if its wrong very quickly! Mine hasn't. Landed about a thing, its happy to move forward as long as I'm sensible. If it wasn't I would be sticking to the rules very very closely x

Yay finally found February Group!!!

Oh well, better to be fashionably late, than not turn up at all.

I had a Gastric Bypass on 5/2/2014, and will be 4 weeks post-op tomorrow. Looking forward to starting the next eating phase of soft mashed food - although I did have a hard time working through sloppy pureed - vile, vile, vile, stuck with soup for as long as I could.

The weight is coming off, although there is no rhyme or reason to it.

It has been interesting reading all the posts, and realising that many of us share the same fears, concerns, apprehensions, and sometimes general bewilderment as to what we should be doing next.

I also like the lighter comments, that put things back in perspective!!!! :) :) :) :) :) :)

Ha ha she's trying to say I'm eating lots of things I shouldn't be on yet, including a tiny pancake today n only almost three weeks post by pass :p

I've not found anything I can't take yet, but being stomach led , rather than the variety of different directions given us all. Weetabix didn't like me this morning , but ill try it again another day. I think being an ex bander helps too.
Hope u r doing well :)

I think its wonderful ali and i agree having had previous band must make a difference, you know all the signs your body gives you, while were complete beginners at this and tbh not having much guidance from hospital we've been blowing in the wind LOL
Just green cos i'm still sucking nicknacks instead of a pancake :jelous: like i said before ali i admire you, just wish i was as relaxed x x x x

Welcome fellow febber :) good for you getting through the stages. It seems every surgeon gives different advice as to how long to stay on liquids, purée and mash for. I'm still throwing a strop that mine says liquid for 4 weeks :( longest 4 weeks ever! Xx

I just go with the flow :) I have enough stress in my life without worrying if its slop or chop lol. I have to say i wouldn't dream of eating hard meats , fatty food or an apple etc. I chew everything to death n make it into slop in my mouth. Ill need dentures at this rate :p !!!
When I was banded any family banter at the table , stress or busyness used to make my band tighten n I'd be sick. I could only eat separate from my children. I could eat so much more when relaxed n quiet. So I promised myself I would never get stressed at mealtime n around food again. I would make wise choices or go without n drink milk instead. So far so good.
I'm 100% sure any fear or stress will tighten you up inside. Relax and enjoy your food Hun. Xxx

Your post op food amazes me and yes am a little envious too. I would be do scared to try anything sweet though, dumping does sound horrid so kudos to you for your bravery with the Nutella albeit a tiny amount. Xx
