Hi

Hey everyone

Surgery went fine, on Thursday 19th went back to work on the Monday(desk job) it was tiring but much easier keeping busy than sat at home surrounded by food lol.
On day 10 12lb loss but really struggling with liquid diet I am soooo bored of it, thinking of going onto purée maybe Monday? Just a couple of days early. It's not hunger it is wanting tastes if that makes sense.
Hope everyone is ok

I took a week's leave for the op. Unfortunately post op complications mean that it looks like it will be the initial week plus 3 "on the sick" and I'm a bit fed up about it. However could not handle the commute at the mo. Just started second week of fluids, can honestly say it doesn't bother me apart from being a bit boring. No looking forward to puree stage at all, likely I will live on home made soup and protein shakes :( Very chuffed with amount of weight that's gone, resisting the urge to weigh every day!

Hey Lynn... Great going. I had my first egg and grilled fish on 26. Could barely manage a couple of spoonfuls..

Pain is... Weakness leaving the body... Cheers and Regards... Kaps

All the best Tules... All will be well... Even I got the jitters on the eve of my op.

Thank you all. My operation went OK yesterday but I feel awful today. Even a tiny sip of water makes me feel very sick, my stomach hurts and the awful dry fetching- where it feels l like my insides will be poured out and stitches burst. I really did not expect it to be so bad.
Please say this is normal and temporary. Morale really down.

It's normal and in after a few weeks you will feel fine it's just teething pains at the moment, just give yourself time and take care by taking it slowly :)

Thank you. Did you have some much pain? I am usually though cookie but today I got knocked on sideways.

Hi I didn't have much pain from the op I just felt dreadful I got a bug which knocked me sideways and I had nasty dumping not a good start, but I'm having more good days than bad so it's getting better each day.

This awful dry fetching- which also horrified the nurses- wearing me down. I cant drink anything. Just had another bout and have cried my eyes out. Is it ever going to get better? What have I done to myself? I am supposed to be discharged tomorrow but really don't feel well enough to go.
Oh God!

My sweet just take it easy don't panic because that won't help. Just take some very small sips and give your self time In between. You may be having effects from the anasteict which is not uncommon. You've had major surgery and we all react differently some sale through surgery some take longer you might be having a reaction. It will get better I promise I know because I had it rough and I thought I was dying it is normal honest I can't say that enough you will be ok. Rest and sip just a straw full at a time and plenty of space between the next one there is no rush and you will feel better once you get into your own bed and home. Hear to talk to you :)

Oh hun, hope you feel better soon. Mouse57 is right it could well be a reaction to the anaesthetic, lots of people are sick afterwards and your tummy is not only sore it is probably empty. Keep trying to get some fluid in and hopefully as the anaesthetic leaves your body you will start to feel better

Lynn x

Hey Tules..... Keep determined... The first couple of days are bad for some. Even I had dry retching on the first day and felt nauseous the first couple of days. Water... Sip sip sip.. All day long. Getting in and out of bed can be difficult... But remember that the worst is over and things will only get better. Follow the advice of your doctor.. Walk if he tells you to. Look at the larger picture. All of us are with you... So cheer up and have that drink of water one sip at a time. All the best
