From Fat to Fit sleeve Diary

I thought so. I wonder if there are any female only surgical teams..

I would imagine that would be massively unlikely.

Yes I think you're right Sundown. Most of the theatre staff were female for me but there was one male and the in any event my surgeon was male. They all acted with the utmost professionalism and courtesy at all times x

Going for a follow up appointment today at Worcester Royal.

Apparently, despite feeling really well and great, my calcium levels are low as are my iron levels. I've also lost a lot of hair, but I think it's normal after weight loss surgery. I've had a lot cut off to try and thicken it up a bit. Hopefully, it will start growing back soon.

Have a good day all!! Xx

Hi Lisa,

Hope the appt goes well.

Have they had you on supplements for your low counts..?

Your body will only compensate for so long before you start feeling the effects. Hope you get a resolution to it all soon.

I'm not looking forward to the losing hair bit although I guess it's a small price to pay for health..!

Ad my pre op yesterday. Can't believe I've only got two weeks to go, eek..!

Take care xx

Hi Claire

Hope your pre op went ok Hun. The pre op makes you realise the reality of it all. I bet you can't wait to get it done and dusted. Are you going in the night before? Also let me know what ward you'll be on and the visiting hours. I want to just one and say hello as you will be really tied from the op.

Yes I've been today. They've told me to increase my milk and they're increasing my iron. I've weighed in at 13 stone 2 pounds and I'm so chuffed. I'm definitely on target to be in the 12'vs by Christmas. They said my hair should start to grow back in the next three to six months. I'm not going to worry about it because it's out of my hands really. I'm tempted to have a really short cut with lovely cherry and coppers. I've already had four inches just cut off it so I will think about it. What do you think?

Take care and speak soon x

Hi lovely,

I absolutely love that haircut and you're going for exactly the colours I want eventually. I've always had short hair and at the moment I'm trying to grow it a bit but I'll be losing my patience VERY soon :)

I'm so pleased your sleeve has been so successful. You've had such a great weight loss and you look amazing.

I have to say that I don't think your hair looks thin in the picture. I know you can feel it but to someone looking in it really does look fine. Love your eyebrows..!

Yes the pre op made everything real. I don't know what I expected but it's quite straight forward isn't it..?

Im going in on the evening of the 16th for surgery on the 17th. I'm on Beech A ward. I'd absolutely love to see you.

Does losing weight still seem quite easy..? Or are you having to work hard for it..!

Love Claire x

I was on that ward Hun and they're all really nice. I will come and see you :)

Yes the weight loss is still fairly easy but they say it is in the first six months.

I'm having a think about my hair. My hairdresser told me to go away and think long and hard. She's worried I will regret it.

Stay strong Hun and keen up the good work xx

You're looking great Violet. I'm off to the hairdressers tomorrow myself with a mind for Autumnal colours. I don't know what it is about weight loss surgery - but it seems to put a lot of us in the frame of mind to start changing other things in life!

You are do doing so well angel. As you say your hair is out of you hands. This time last year I was In exactly the same position with my hair and I had a fringe cut right up into my hairline with a bit of undercutting. But now my hair is back to normal. And yours will be soon xx

I went to have a consultation with my hairdresser on Saturday about the short edgy style and colours. She was brutally honest and said that she didn't think it would suit me at this time :(

She has however suggested that I have a soft perm to give me body and volume and create the illusion of thicker hair She said I can still have the colours in a couple of weeks time. I have booked to go next week.

watch this space for new hair pics

Ooh, I'm looking forward to seeing that..! A wavy perm sounds nice.

You must know her well if she can be so honest :)

I don't her that well really but she said when I've lost weight she would do the style. That's a polite way of saying my face is to fat lol xx
