Help!!!!

Glad you're back in the swing of things :)

Feeling much better now thank you ladies. I had what I would term a "normal" day today where I was able to participate fully in the family without having to have a rest. This hasn't happened since the first 2 weeks post-op.

Hopefully I can get moving next week. My enthusiasm has returned :)

So is everyone alright??! X
I'm doing really good thanks :) Glad to see you feeling better

Hi Ceecie. So glad you are feeling good and positive again. And look at you, my girl now giving out the advice to newbies like an old-timer. So thrilled for you to have got through this stage with your spirit and determination intact. You go girl! xxx

It's amazing how each phrase passes n how how bobbies change n we grow by the experience. Sign of a loser is getting thru these tough times n moving on to the next. You go girl xxx

A trip to an independant health food shop left me £76 lighter.
I spent an hour in their talking to the owner, discussing WLS, my health fears and recent events. She recommended;
1. Skin, hair and nails formula-Solgar
2. Natural Whey Protein-Pulsin
3. Synergistic Iron-Quest
4. Malted Slippery Elm Food-Thimpson's
5. High Five B Complex-Veridian
6. Raspberry Keytones Advance-Natures Aid

I've just sat down with my booty and thought blimey, that's a lot of money to spend on supplements!!.......BUT IS IT??

A Saturday evening meal out with hubby to be would cost the same. It would be a one off hit....full of fat, sugar, heavy carbs.....I would also have drank sugary alcohol and smoked a few ciggies too!!!.......

Why do we think nothing of splashing out to indulge ourselves, yet are more unsure about responsible investment in our health.

I think 2 things......

1. I'm out of my comfort zone-I don't know what I like, what works or understand the ingredients in the health food shop. Take me to any restaurant in this country and I will confidently order and know I'm going to enjoy what turns up.

2. It's easier to indulge, it's a habit, a routine. Being responsible with my body and health is alien to me and there is a lot to learn!

I think what I'm trying to say is, this journey is a new life!! A new way of thinking alongside a new way of eating. I nodded and said I accepted I needed to change my lifestyle before the op......BUT I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND HOW.

I'm just starting to try to understand how to look after myself and get this weight off.

It's exciting!!! :)

Can I ask Ceecie the raspberry keytones are they what help burn up the fat? xx Pleaased you getting ya self sorted now well done xx

If you worry about your possible lactose intolerance, rather than whey protein this is the alternative one recommended for me by my team who are very on the ball about sugars, fats, supplements, etc. Being veggie with dairy skin allergy I was struggling to get enough protein when I moved to solids - Quorn mince was (and still is) my best friend. I get through heaps of it in shepherds pies, stirfrys, etc

Soya Protein Isolate - Pulsin

I thought our bodies were generally in a state of ketosis anyway? Would extra ketones not damage kidneys? X

As far as in aware, there is only really a risk of too many Keytones if you are diabetic. I have urine test strips so shall monitor my levels weekly. X

It's def something I can discuss with the dietician next week. At the moment m not even in ketosis, I'm on a massive stall!!! :(

The presence of ketones in urine. Ketones are produced when the body has little or no intake of carbohydrates and is burning stored fat.

SO more keytones more blubber removal :)

The sticks are called ketostix. That said ladies, this sort of thing didn't work for you preop. The pills, the potions etc - do they really have a place in your wellbeing plan now? I understand the additional vitamins, bit worried though that you've nothing in place from your provider. But the raspberry ketone stuff - pointless. Follow the rules and you will lose most of the weight. Don't waste you money - save it for clothes.

Not trying to lecture, but you need to focus on meeting your nutritional needs - until you're at least six months out you shouldn't need anything else.

I second Yve on the Raspberry Ketones - waste of money and false promises. Take your vitamins, eat healthy and nutrient rich food, exercise, and spend your dosh on skinny clothes! :D

Make me three too on this ladies ditto on what Yve says .
