Please don't worry when I was banded the wind is bad but nothing really bad the more you walk around the better it is and as for back to work I was back after one week and when I had my band removed back the next day my by pass took a bit longer 3 weeks off only because I have a heavy lifting job and needed staples out but it's normal for you to be nervous at this stage

tinker try dusting a little talc on the wounds to dry them out thats what i always do

Hi everyone I had my sleeve on Monday having a bit of a rough time if I'm being honest anything I put to my lips making me hip water dilute pop tea yoghurt really am mentally and physically drained anyone else pre op experienced this I'm struggling with fluids as well which is also worrying me to death not had any bowel movement since 5 days in to milk diet take 2 lots of ducolax someone tell me its all normal or hit me with it I'm being pappy the gagging when I put anything to my mouth is no bing helped by the vile taste I've still got brushing as much as I can sucking on peppermint and spritzing with dry mouth spray.,
I'm really needing some positive vibes folks xx

hi kimmiekoo,I'm 8 days post op had the bypass.im haveing trouble getting the fluids in too but am manageing a cuppa soup and suger free jelly last few days.i had trouble with bowels too and mistakenly took exl lax which then caused dumping that was agony,went to dr and he has given suger free senna he says constipation is one of the known things after surgery but glad to say the seena helped,maybe you could try that.have you tried to sip your water through a straw?im only just finding I'm feeling a bit better in myself before that I was so tired I just didn't want to move only got up to walk to loo.chin up sweetie things will get better.x

elo all done been out since Thursday.not too bad.aches and pain and sore.trying to fit all meds,mealtimes and drinking in.but getting there.i have loads to read.i will be back.you all take care soohoo

I know it's hard but you will get through this. Some people have it harder than others and some sail through the 1st few weeks. I was unable to eat or drink for 14 days after op, constantly vomiting, on drips and Hartman solution for electrolytes and didn't have a bowel movement for 19 days. Had 4 enemas and every laxative going! The taste in my mouth was vile as I was vomiting bile. At the time I thought I was never going to get better and never be able to eat and drink normally again. But you do get better, just takes more time for some of us! You will get through this!

Hi Kimmiekoo,

I know exactly how you are feeling. This coming Monday I will be two weeks post op. I feel like **** , faint and have a terrible taste in my mouth. Every liquid tastes like dish water and the thought of eating turns my stomach. I struggle to take my daily medications (which are quite a lot) and I'm beginning to have panic attacks that I'm going to die.

I thought I would feel on top of the world and rearing to go.

I must admitted I felt so ill after surety, I wondered if I had done the right thing. I've had no bowel movement for5 days. I'm not worried yet. But I got lactulose. U will feel better soon, I promisexx

It's a normal thing your food intake is right down what you eat in a week now is what you ate in a day so a bowel movement is normal if you try to force it will only cause pain give it time and try things to keep it soft

Slept most of today. But come on just to say I'm alive and banded.

Yea my toilet movements have cut down massively... But I'm trying not to let them bother me... I'm taking complan and some soups and plenty of liquids to stay hydrated.. Had some very runny mash and gravy earlier and feel great.... Almost 3 stone off from the pre op now...
