My Post OP (Band) Journey 2014 onwards

Sharon, today I whizzed up 3 slices of corned beef, half a tin of plumed tomato and a small snak pot of Heinz beans...yum..got 2 meals with lots of protein in the meat and beans and good fibre lol. Oh I added some HP sauce ;-) to serve

The stew was not a great success. I have frozen it for the normal food stage as I didn't want to take a risk. It was too stringy. Even though cooked in the slow cooker for hours :-(

Tonight I whizzed up a can of chick pea dhal, got it in BM in the town center. It was gorgeous, again used the other half of the plum tomato. It was a great consistency. Tesco or asda sell chickpea dhal I'm sure. This took my carbs higher than I would have liked but really needing the fibre.

The chicken meal I made was lovely too. Slow cooked the chicken and veg with a reasonable amount of liquid and used the hand blender. That was lovely and really high in protein and low in carbs

For Tomorrow I have got a head of broccoli and intend whiz zing it then microwaving it with a couple of ounces of cheddar

I know a lot of people start off with mashed potato. Too many empty carbs for me. At least with the beans and chickpeas I am getting a reasonable potion of protein

I am getting around 60g cto 80g a day and if I'm falling short I take a ufit

I tend to have the three small puréed meals and two high protein yogurts, Danio mini or libertie from asda. The liberte ones are to die for

My calories are around 700 to 800. Today I was about 830 but the corned beef and the chickpeas are quite calorie dense but very satisfying. I think I went over slightly as I had a ufit for breakfast and a regular sized Danio yoghurt as tesco did not have the mini pots and the 150g one was about 50 cals extra

I have bought tins of fish in tomato sauce to try tomorrow too. Thought I would use the broccoli I don't eat at lunch with this for tea

I agree with you about potatoes, just as moved day early I wasn't as prepared, so my carbs are higher than id like, so not expecting a loss tomorrow with switching!

I think I will try the cornbeef dish, sounds lovely! I have those Heinz mini micro pots so use one of them.

I was googling but never came up with anything apart from puréed cauliflower mash lol!!

Hey everyone! 3/4lb today! So down to 260.25lbs! 18st 8.25!! 33.75lbs lost! Happy with that loss today! :) I meant to say few days ago I haven't been this weight or less in over 10years!! Xx
You are doing fantastic Hun well done....as for the LSD it's getting silly I know all hospitals and surgeons are different but was told today because my protein intake is so low normally to use the shakes if I choose by my doc grrr at this rate I'm going to be more loopy than I am already lol!!,

Theres lots of whizzing and zinging going on!! Im quite looking forward to a bowl of lentil soup! Only two weeks to go until i move on to puree, oh the excitement.

It's definitely worth it on puree !

As I thought stalled today! But to be expected, so not disappointed as thought that with moving to next stage xx
 
Ha ha Karina. I am having a wee lie in. Had the girls out at 5.30 this morning and came back to bed. Never thought I could feel so much anticipation for that tin of sardines which is calling to me. I feel as excited as that as I did in the past about going out for a nosh up lol

I actually put half a pound on following my move to purée Sharon. Don't know if I have taken it off yet as had no scales. I'm going to move on to soft foods on Wednesday

Thanks Kirsty, I'm expecting I night get that tomorrow as it was only 1 puréed meal yesterday but it seems part of the journey as long as I know I'm eating the right stuff, it should all fall inline, definitely feel slimmer!!

How long were u on purée for?? X

Just got my beans and sausage!

Got some lean corned beef plus I bought tin red salmon to use as protein seemed high xx
 
If I change on Wednesday that will be 8 days on purée and a week on liquids before that.

I have no idea what I am doing really not having spoken to a dietitian. Some people move through the stages a week at a time, some two, some straight on to purée then soft. I would be planning to do soft for a full two weeks

I am concerned that I will be having my fill before I am on normal food

I don't want to do anything to damage my band

I am just trying to listen to my body and I eat out of a small freezer container to the tune of about half a can of Heinz soup each meal and so far I feel full bot not painfully so
 
Enjoy Sharon. Humus sounds good. I think anything that you can chew down to a purée in your mouth before you swallow may be ok. If the worse stones to the worst ...a lovely bowl of ice cream lol x

I am getting fed up with my puréed food so may give in to the potatoes. I'm thinking potatoes with cheddar
