newbie susie starting out.... help

OOhhh Susie how exciting. Good luck with it. You may find the first couple of days tricky, but drink lots of water to help fill you up and it gets easier - just remember it is a necessary evil for the next step of you much awaited and very exciting journey xx

thats great susie, am sure you'll do well on it, just remember itll make the op easier give you such a buzz when you see the weight falling off even before you have the op

Hi not yet had any surgery, but I was wondering with the pre op diet are you still able to work? I work ten hour shifts in a very demanding environment and wonder how weak it would leave me feeling.....Linda x

i worked shifts whilst on the pre op diet, and didnt do too bad, kept drinking plenty of water and ate loads of salad with chicken or ham

Hi Linda

I work days and nights 12 hour shifts but just finished my last shift at 6am this morning,I am 2 days off the big O and i am on the milk and yoghurt diet.
I tended to find i was more hungry after 11pm,so i would save the majority of my allowance for after that time,it was difficult working days when ppl around me were all eating "normal"food but the more days you get into the diet the easier it gets.Honestly.
Like many have advised drink plenty of water helps fill you up.

Good luck ,I am sure you will be fine .

hows the pre op diet going susie, hope your not too hungry and your drinking loads of water x

oh no susie! sorry to hear you're not well. I've had kidney problems since age 12 so if I can help at all, shout x

dont know what to do about kidneys shel?? are you on anything special? how do you improve or take care of them? i guess no sugar diet is the right way to go, i dont know what else to do??
any suggestions??
susie

Diet wise to take the strain off your kidneys it should be low protein and low salt, those two put the most strain on your kidneys to filter. Also avoid alcohol completely if possible while you're getting sorted out. Have they said what the problem is?

its just the diabetes shel. i dont drink. having this kind of surgery though dont you have to up your intake of protein??? anyone??
