Well done Kimberly :) rest up! 2 weeks from now you'll feel like a different person and be well on your way!

How you feeling now butterfly?

Thank you for your replies regarding the suspect infection. Its not open or weeping. The skin around it looks like a bruise. Ill be phoning the hospital tomorrow and see what they have to say. Im hoping its nothing :s

Audrasharon, 3 weeks!! :D

I really haven't been hungry today. Struggled to eat. Do you guys have days like that? X

Hiya Nicola, yeah I rarely feel hungry or thirsty really. I struggle getting liquids in. Im scared of not losing any weight or stretching my pouch. I managed to eat a big dinner last night and felt really guilty! Proper full too. 1 1/2 tablespoons cauliflower cheese and about an hour later the squishy innards of 2 sausages. On top of that I sipped some milk, pepsi max and had a whole cuppa coffee. All within about 2 hours. Which is loads for me! Tonight I had 1/4 slice of garlic butter on toast and about a tbsp mashed pasta. Carbs ahhhh!!!! Chew chew chew!

You guta force yourself to eat hun. It will help you heal quicker :) Have what you REALLY fancy. It'll taste better :)

What kinda things are you having?

Thanks flick. What I've been having is tasty but I'm so full so quick. My nurse rang today and said liquids most important. I tried cheesy mash tonight and tummy said no after 3 forkfuls! :/

Hi flick I had my op the same day as you, I see you said you had toast are you on soft/crunchy now, I am so sick of purée it makes me not want to eat, dying to eat some normal foods!

Nicola, my apetite changes. During the day I eat very little, tbsp ready brek for breakfast, fromage frais for lunch, hot drinks but no liquid meal replacements. Its only been these last couple of days that ive had more for dinner (its still not actually that much tho) but ive not had any food during the day. Just sipping milk because I dont feel hungry at all! I have tried 'normal' pureed food for lunch, same as you, after about 3 very small mouthfuls and half hour spent eating it im full too! Just need to do what I currently dont and thats drink, drink, drink! Really need to start doing drinking, myself.

TC33, im still supposed to have pureed food for another 2 weeks but I wanted to try and see what my tummy says. It said no to egg and no to tuna so far lol The pasta was covered in sauce and I was nibbling at the bread and chewing it loads. I mean loads! What went down was no more solid than soup so I figured what harm could it do? If my tummy doesnt agree ill end up bringing it back up or dumping!

That's what I was thinking, if it is chewed to a pulp what's the difference! I had tuna mayo last week as my dietician told me I could, didn't agree with me and when I mentioned if to the nurse when she called to check up she said I shouldn't have had it unless it was puréed! I had chilli tonight and didn't blend it so much and it was fine, think I am going to try something new each day as I can't bear another day of just pulp!!

Me either :( I know thats what we signed up for but it is hard. Id quite like to enjoy a soup in the future and not shy away because im sick of it, ya know?
I had fish in sauce mixed with 2 (from frozen) potato wedges, mashed. It was delicious! That was a few days ago. It did 2 meals - lovely :) Have had cheesy beans, chilli, mashed potato & pasta sauce, chicken & veg soup, cauliflower & broccoli cheese with bacon bits! Fromage frais, weight watchers jelly, angel delight & hot chocolate. Even had a bite of choc ice and a square of chocolate today  Tried abit of omelette and that did not agree with me. And tuna in a fancy dressing again didnt agree, had to bring that back up (sorry tmi) Been fine with everything else. Tea, coffee, nas squash & pepsi max cherry! With bubbles! :)

Hi Flick, I thought any fizzy drink with any bubbles weren't allow full stop as they can stretch the stomach. It was the one big no, no from my surgeon. ?!?

 can they?? How is that possible?

If thats the case ill leave it to go flat. Really dont wanna risk stretching at such an early stage :/ oh dear :(

My surgeon said even if you leave it to go flat it can still contain to much carbonate that's why I stopped drinking it 4 weeks ago to get used to life without it! I'd avoid big time!! X

Ooohhh just read the liquids bit of the dietary requirements booklet, Quote "Do not drink fizzy/carbonated drinks including sparking water as these can cause bloating and an uncomfortable feeling"

Well that told me! Be leaving the lid off in the future :( Feel really bad. It doesnt give me any kinda feeling, just burps but not guna risk it anymore :(

Yeah I've been told no not ever again to any fizzy drinks. Just nas squash here.

Flick, did the choc ice not make you dump? X

Don't get to worried I think it's if you have it every day over a period of time so you won't have done any damage yet. Just don't have any more. X

Nope, I havent dumped on anything yet. The pain I had last week wasnt diagnosed but they said it didnt sound like dumping?? and the tuna, it was too heavy, as soon as it hit my stomach I was sick, once it was gone I was fine. Unless that is what dumping feels like??

It was literally a corner from my hubby's choc ice. First 'goodie' in almost a month.

Ok, I'll have to put the fizzy/flat down. I have a sweet tooth so that was my sugar free treat :( I can give things up pretty easily. Just another to add to my list lol

To me, dumping is like a panic attack. It comes on very quick, I tremble, feel faint and breathless, get very hot and had to run to the loo! It settles and then I feel freezing cold and shaky and weak for about 30 mins after. It's truly lovely! Lol x

I feel the same about mash, love it but bored of it already, I can't bear to go off it so feel I need more variety. It sounds like you are tolerating loads, I do get scared that if I don't follow the advice to the letter then I could do damage but on the other hand the thought of puréed left overs is making me want to cry and never eat again!!

Have you stopped your injections yet? My stomach is so bruised, the needle won't go through where I have stretch marks (which is most of my tummy!!!) so I am running out of room, I have 2 days left but I am active, went on a long walk today so thinking of not bothering with the last two days, some people only seem to have them for a week anyway.

I haven't dumped yet either but I am being careful about sugar, did go through a period when I had to sleep after eating, you know that feeling like after you have had a massive roast and can't keep your eyes open!!
