November 2013 Surgeries

Pyjamas are brilliant inventions :) I know when i keep mine on I have an excuse to stick my hair up, unbrushed, in a messy bun. Panda eyes, fluffy socks and do nothing all day long! :p I love those days!!

15 days out. Had my post op check today. Wounds all healed :) 2 1/2 stone down. Been told to eat a bit more and up my exercise to 3 x 10 minutes walk every day. 2 more weeks on purées! Back to work tomorrow.

3+ weeks out now. Last weighed 26lbs lost. Think I need to talk to someone professional :( Finding it really hard to get into my head that I need to eat and drink. My problem post op was never over eating but not eating, so for 8 years my body was in starvation mode clinging to every calorie I did get inside me, thus, making me the way I am.

Im worried that by eating I wont lose weight but know that by not eatinc I wont lose (as effeciently, anyway) either! Im stuck :(

maybe speak to the dietician or someone flick you should really be eating more than what you say you are and by not eating enough you wont lose the weight you need to eat a minimum 3 times a day to lose it even if it is just a couple spoons it all helps

Yeah my nurse said today If I don't eat more I'll make myself ill and my body will start clinging on to the fat it has rather than shifting it. :(

I wrote post op but meant pre op!

Minimum I eat once a day, normally, twice a day though. Usually fromage frais or a slice of cold meat for lunch and then a random dinner. Only once have I eaten 4 meals in one day since the op and I was disgusted with myself!
Drinks wise, today has been the worst day since coming home from hospital. Best being over 1.5l fluid in one day.

Only meal today I had around 5ish and dumped on it (ugh, first time dumping, not very nice!) I think im hungry. Kinda got used to hunger pains and learnt to ignore them but will get some grub anyway and see how I feel afterwards

No, no, its a great help thank you! :) The table is a good idea. Almost like a food diary but backwards.
Its almost like I need someone to hand me food, like a child, and not leave til I eat it. Same with drinks. I automatically think food = fat and so fear eating alot. Even though they are small portions just the idea of eating 3-5 times a day is frightning!
When I spoke to the dietitian pre op she couldnt quite believe my food diary. Slimfast breakfast at 3pm, dinner at 9pm etc. Hardly any junk foods just no structure whatsoever. She told me then I need to start eating properly, easier said than done though! Wouldnt be in this mess lol

Tomorrow is a new day and its already started. Ive just finished a small bowl of fat free natural fromage frais with strawberries, raspberries & blackberries. It was delicious and I do feel better! :)

I am 2 weeks post op today and tbh I don't feel like I've had anything done (apart from the eating side of it) been back to work 8 days ago :)

Kimberly that's such good advise for Flick. A timetable is always a good idea in early stage. I will do one when I come home and I'm restarting my Milk one today! It gives you structure. Glad your all doing so well including you Flick, us keep asking for advise when you need it! X

All great advice! I'm back driving today and my tummy no longer touches the steering wheel!! I almost cried with happiness :) :)

I found that I have room between me and my steering wheel and with my big coat on I don't struggle to do the belt up :)

Ask you insurance company Kimberley, my surgeon said I could drive as soon as I felt well enough.
