'Im reema 5weeks post op and need your advice'

Hi Reema, welcome to the site. Hope you don't mind me jumping in, just wanted to offer you some support.

'i dont kno what i sould or shouldnt be eating even from the start'

You should go by the instruction given to you by your bariatric team. Do you have a contact for them to ask for help? You can also look here for inspiration http://www.wlsurgery.com/wls-recipes-forum/66935-food-puree-stage-soups-sauce-recipes.html.

'i havnt been blending anything the other day i manged to have a youngs cod an was fine next day manged 4spoonfuls but next day was fine so i dont kno what going on there'

You are still healing inside so you should be following you dietician's advice and progress through the stages of liquid/puree/soft and then onto solid foods. You will have some days where you can eat more than others. That is normal.

the nurse told me i dont need to blend can have very soft rice an just chew well,

You should follow your team's advice for how to progress through the stages. That said if you are just 5 weeks post-op I would think rice would be very tough to manage. Rice wasn't advised for me until after I was on solid food in week 7 or 8, some people are told to wait longer than that so I would be careful.

i never had breakfast an im still like that,i dont kno what to do i have lost 2stones.

If you are saying you skip meals and you are an early post-op I would advise you to take better care of yourself. It is fantastic that you have lost 2 stone but you may be making yourself ill by not eating enough food or often enough. The truth is to be able to get enough protein and nutrition in a day when you are on soft or mushy foods you need to eat 4-6 tiny meals per day. You must not make a habit of skipping breakfast, it can lead to malnutrition and weakness in a person recovering from major surgery. You must take care of your healing body so therefore you must eat little meals all throughout the day starting with breakfast.

'i hate soup cant even go there please help any way you can..'

I don't mean to be harsh but it sounds like you were not prepared for what life after surgery would be like, is that how you feel? If so maybe you can let your team know and you can get their help. Maybe it would also help you to read through the diary section of people on this forum. There are loads of helpful people around and many people asking similar questions, just take some time and read and perhaps start your own thread so that you can collect all you questions and concerns in one place.

Wishing you the best of luck,
Nic:D

hey phatgirl thank you so much you have been such a help so thank you..hope your doing well..

well for valentines i have managed to get tickets for the sharks vs leeds carnage match so not only am i happy i know he will be.lol
saying that im working at weekend so will just have to wait till the end of the month to celebrate properly

Oh dear they say the course of true love is never a smooth one and how stupid do i feel.
Got an email off keith tonight explaining everything and asking me to phone him.
The reason he didnt communicate with me the other night was that he was fuming to see what had been going on on face book but in particular that a false profile had been set up not just for this girl but he had had his face book hacked but one of the young ones. He has since changed his password. (he had lent her his laptop at rehursals one night to do her homework and she was sat with him when he logged on to facebook and clocked his password and email addi.
As for not speaking to me i basically dumped him via a text when he didnt respond to me and he admitted tonight that he was a little devistated by it. Its taken till now to get to the bottom of everything and he wanted to get all the facts befor contacting me.
His son is on leave this weekend from the army so he is coming for tea on monday. Hopefully we can put this stupid episode behind us and move forward.
Cant believe how happy i was to hear his voice tonight. Again i didnt give him an easy time but im now officially a hot head lol.

Do you know what Carole I hope things go ok with him and Im pleased your happy - but................... call me an old cynic and an untrusting so and so but it still sounds a bit 'fishy'. I hope Im wrong though and wish you all the best ;)

Mazza im playing it very cool with him. Ive not phoned him or started convo on face book or msn with him etc. Im letting him do the running and instead of me asking him what hes doing on whatever day hes started asking me so using a bit of reversed phychology seems to be filtering through.

i really appriciate yr comment and am very mindful and really not getting my hopes up. if it works it works.

Keith was out with some colleuges in leeds last night when he got seperated from them. He was meant to of been staying over at one of their houses. He didnt have his cards on him so as he has a weekly train ticket he decided to get the train home. Im on 2 days off and had gone to the rugby club but hadnt been drinking so when i got a phone call off him at 11.30 i thought he was just phoning to say goodnight as he usually does.
No talk about feeling like an old married couple the phone conversation went something like this
"hi love emmm im in a bit of bother emmm any chance you can meet me at piccadilly at 1 am Iv lost the boys and ive not got my cards on me so cant book into a hotel. But my cars at bolton station and ive got to be on the 6.30 am train so any chance you will stay and drop me in the morning"
My first thought was stuff off im no taxi service but having been without hot water and heating since saturday my mind went into overdrive of warm house and shower
" Of course i will love"
I have told him my valentines pressi had better be an extra special one now. lol

LOL, Carole is a card that man. At least he keeps it interesting. As long as it stays fun, I say why not!

And yes he better come through with a good pressie, and it better not be some tarty nighty! Hehehehe...

Hugs,

mmmm valentines a time for romance!!!! lol
My sister has been on home leave from hospital so i invited her to mine for dinner as i was working and had a little one here. Keith was at the football match so arrived about 4pm. So they got to meet each other for the first time. Got this feels as though its getting serious when hes meeting the extended family.
Keith being Keith only has a serious side when it comes to business. so i didnt expect to get a romantic card but i did get one and it was very funny. There wasnt a present forthcoming with the card and i have to admit i was a little disapointed.
I took my sister back to the hospital after dinner and keith stayed at mine with my son watching the rugby.
When i got back there was a gift bag on the table with my name on it and inside was a bottle of CK summer which is my fav perfume and until he met me he had never smelt it but loves it on me and also £50 trafford centre voucher with a message on it saying for lingerie only!!!! ps if you want me to come shopping with you i will. He actually likes shopping so i may well take him up on that.
he said that he hadnt thought it appropriate to give me my present in front of my sister so saved it for when i got back.
Wont see him now till friday as hes travelling all week Leeds, London, Cardiff x 2 nights, Leeds. So busy week for him and its also half term so busy week for me. Im off on friday so having my hair done and then we are off to the rugby match roll on friday!!

Woo, what a guy - you'd better snap him up quick!

wow what a nice thing to come home to the boy done good :D

well despite getting on really well we have decided that we will be better off as friends.
In the last 2 weeks we have seen each other once due to our work commitments. He has had 2 business dinners that he really wanted me to attend and i couldnt because i was working. and then on my days off he has been working away and not getting home till late.
The two days we could of spent together bolton were playing at home and then he was off to his mates stag party and the other day i had arranged befor i met him to help at a car boot for the charity i run and then take my friends daughter to a charity fashion show in manchester.

Meeting him has been a fantastic first experiance and has given me confidence to get back out there and start looking again. We both aknowlwdge that the problem we have is down to our work commitments. He never knows for one day to the next where hes going to be and i have a very set routien regarding work and time off.

So im getting that there fishing rod out again.
lets hope the ******* bite!!

Sorry to hear it is not developing into what I suspect you would have liked. However, as you say it has been a good experience and will help in the long run.

Don't worry, you will be beating the ******** off with a big stick. :D

xx

Good for you! That's the attitude! Like our Glenville says, you WILL be beating them off with a ****** stick!

:heartpump:And now that spring is on the way, you know what they say about spring:0chacha:, it's when a young/old man's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love! :lilkiss: (delete as appropriate).:serenade:
