Tobi's Band :)

Good to hear from you Tobi. Glad to hear you're feeling much better.

I'm with you on the head hunger (tho I don't get banded until tomorrow!). I've been finding myself thinking "I can't wait to have a great big plate of <insert food here>", then realising I won't be eating great big plates of food anymore. The thought that I won't be eating big plates of food anymore makes me feel a bit sad and disappointed, cos I love a great big plate-full!! Obviously I'm going to need to work on this when I have the band. I hate being sick or being in pain so hopefully that will help me start to feel happy with smaller portions :s I hope it's not just me experiencing wonky thoughts like that...?

Hi hon :) excited for tomorrow? I'll be thinking of you, please keep us posted!! X

You're not alone with that, I too dream of different food but to be honest, after 3 weeks of milk and yogurt pre-op diet, anything I eat tastes fantastic and I just want to carry on eating a bit more, at least finish the half a mug.

You just need to stick to 20-20-20. Although we don't chew anything yet, we need to wait 20sec between each sip and stop eating/drinking altogether after 20 minutes. xxx

Head hunger is the devil I had a few days of it on and off mainly when we were out an Andy an charlie had something to eat I wasn't hungry but the smells told my brain I was I can't believe 2 weeks today at this time I was in theatre! Xx

I know what you mean! Husband cooked himself a roast today (******* lol) and it smelled so good. Although i had something just before i still licked a couple of teaspoons of the gravy. It must have been too rich, i had really bad wind ache afterwards, around my chest and back... Obviously it could be something else, i had a cup a mushroom soup earlier. It was the worst pain after the op so far and i was getting worried. After an hour or so i had to run to the loo with the runs. Sorry if tmi... This is the 2nd time i went for a number 2 since the op and the pain went away afterwards, phew... Not sure what went wrong there and im scared to eat/drink now :( x

Ah thanks hon, much better now. No idea what went wrong there, possibly trapped wind untrapping, lol? I do get wind after eating or drinking every time though nowhere near as bad. Hopefully it will all settle soon :)

Ooh mega happy this morning! I wore my decent suit trousers to go to work this morning after 9 days of comfy loose trousers... and it fell to my ankles!!! Good thing i had one size smaller sitting in my wardrobe for more than a year untouched.

One dress size down already, thank you very much little band!! Xxx

LOL

I had my trouser dropping moment speed walking to Stratford tube station during the summer, just caught them in time :8855:

I've lost 4 dress sizes now, it's a fab feeling.

Love my band, but sometimes also hate it:eek:

Lol well done you x I'm also in awe that you haven't been near the scales yet its becoming an obsession for me lol

Thank you ladies :) really pleased :) :)

Sooo first day at work... I drove in the end, just in case. The car park is 5 min away from the office anyway and I managed it in 10 min so that's 20 min walk to and back. I also went out for a walk lunch time so that's 40 mins, makes an hour walk.

Glad I drove in the end because I get a back ache after walking for about 10 mins or so. Maybe that's cos I try very hard not to use my abdominal muscles as my 2 large incisions hurt a bit while walking?

Morning was fine but in the afternoon I had wind pain after having my soup and a bad back ache. I forgot to take painkillers with me grrrr so the last few hours were hard work. I took a co-codomol when I got home and it got better. I was on normal paracetamol recently but had to take something a bit stronger today...

If I knew what it would feel like, I would book 2 weeks off work. I felt so ready and up for it in the morning but i changed my mind in the afternoon lol. It was difficult. At least I have an easy-ish week, I have training tomorrow and working from home on Thursday.

Paula I'm dying to go on the scales but so scared. What if I haven't lost haha. Will resist the urge and do it on Saturday :)

Oh one more thing, I am struggling to finish my soups, drinks etc and cannot have more than 350-400 kcal a day so far but today I discovered Danone shape delights, low fat and 108 calories a pot and goes down so easily. Helps upping the calories a bit and tastes yummy :) xxx

morning!!

How are you feeling after your first day back. I've booked two weeks off work and after reading about your experience I glad I did.

and I am literally DYING to hear how much you've lost.

xxx

Hi Rach :) I'm much better today than yesterday, partly because I'm at a training all morning and seated on comfy sofas doing team activities an other corporate stuff lol! Haven't taken painkillers yet but I will do in the afternoon when I go back to the office.

I'm dying to find out too but I'm scared it's slowed down. Lost 30 pounds exactly in my 4 weeks prior to surgery though! Xxx
