Tobi's Band :)

I am now a proud owner of a 10ml band with a 1ml fill thanks to my Superman surgeon Mr Paul Super :)

A bit sore where the port is and wind pain is a ***** but overall I'm feeling much better than I thought I would.

I went in at 10:30 and been waken up in the recovery room and taken to my room. I thought I just arrived when I opened my eyes but apparently I slept for a couple of hours!

I had half a cup of water and a cup of peppermint tea so far and I'm on seconds now. I can't believe how easily I can sip.

No nausea, yay! I have a swollen lip which isn't painful just the top bit is swollen to a pea size. And my scalp is itchy! Apparently morphine does that, how bizzare...

Everyone here at Dolan Park are so lovely and even though I went to the op theatre in tears, I was laughing by the time I was lying down!

I'm very happy :)

Oh I was like that last week, don't worry hon you find your way eventually. All I had in my first week was the soups I made. Pretty bored with them now that's why I'm turning real food into soups by blending them with gravy! Quite useful though, I just nick a tablespoon of whatever husband's having and turn that into soup lol :p

You know what, I started to get hungrier too. I can double what filled me last week! Scaaary... Last week I was sure I'd never want to eat anything again, ha ha ha :p xxx

I felt like that the first week, thought it was great that I just didn't feel hungry ever but now I'm surviving on pure willpower!

I had a busy day working from home. I was hoping to get a lot of work done in the peace and quiet of my home, instead I spent most of the day replying emails and talking on the phone to work, bleh..

Around after 5:30ish in the afternoon I collapsed and fell asleep for an hour and I could have slept more if the phone didn't ring.

If there is anyone out there thinking about how much time to take off work, go for 2 weeks if you can afford it. Wish I did... As I didn't tell work why I was taking time off, I couldn't just say 'the holiday is great can I have another week off?' hehe. My pain is much better and more manageable but I can't seem to shift the tiredness yet. And the back ache is always there...

I'll pass out shortly, night night people xxx

Hi guys, how's everyone been today? Hope all is well :)

I'm glad it's Friday, first week back at work wasn't easy! Painful for the first couple of days but just tiredness afterwards. Hoping to rest really well this weekend and back to work AND my mushies on Monday - can't wait!

I've tried very hard to drink more today but I can sip a cup of coffee for more than an hour and I just get full up so easily. Couldn't manage enough liquids again today, pffft... and this is sipping all through the day.

I felt hungry a few times today but I also felt full up while drinking, weird stuff. I'm really tired of the soup now but it's rather practical while at work. On my way home, I thought I'll have something nice for dinner and popped in M&S and as a result my dinner was AMAZING! xxx

Have a lovely mushy day hon! Lets know what you are having as need a little of your magical inspiration :)

Was thinking of getting the protein water from my protein, is it worth it? (I've got the diet protein whey, hardly use it to be honest but I'm not back at work yet).
I'm finding it hard at moment to fit 2 snacks in, can this be used as a snack?

Enjoy mmmmm xxx

I tried very hard to have that protein water yesterday but it's just vile :( taste is alright, I have cranberry flavour but the aftertaste is disgusting and makes my tongue feel funny and furry, not sure if I can describe it. First attempt, I managed 50 ml or so. Second time I was quite thirsty so sipped it quickly and managed 150ml. Still more than half of the bottle left, not sure if I fancy touching it...

First attempt of soft foods didn't go so well either, boo. I prepared 30g ready brek with 150ml milk (standard portion) at home so that i could measure it and took it to work with me. By the time I got here it hardened a bit and I had a bit, very slowly, managed less than half and had to stop. Either this is restriction or it got stuck... Waiting for the uncomfortable feeling to pass.

Looking forward to learning to eat soft and normal food with the band and hoping I won't have to throw up!!!

How are you doing today hon, are your clips out yet?? xxx

Is Ready break a porridge? If it is, of course it did get thicker, but you could make it again thinner by adding a tiny bit of hot water and mixing with spoon properly. (or you can add hot milk, but the water may be easier to find in the office)
