Hi , everyone,
I've had a letter today !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've got an appointment in the Weight Loss Clinic for the 17th April.
I'm a bit confused. Will this be my first pre-op appointment, or is it a different one? I hope I'm not going to get there to be given a diet sheet and membership to Weight Watchers!
The letter does say to take details of all my medication with me.
Any ideas?
Rach,
Loads of luck for tomorrow, hun. Don't worry about anything. x
My letter for my first appt was to the weight management clinic, and told me to bring details of medications and previous ops etc. I spent 4 hours there and met dietitian, surgeon, head doctor and clinical nurse specialist. No more than 10 mins with each one!!
I would give them a quick ring tomorrow and ask them what the apptment is for it could just be that there is a balls up as you were given a first appt over the phone ( a cancellation wasn't it). .
This sounds like what my appointment might be like. Dr. Hartland said last week that there would be some other people there, but he did say it would be my first pre-op, but I've only had a single-sheet letter, not like 3 pages Tes said and there was no mention of funding.
What was the purpose of the appointment and what happened next?????????
Ah yes, I bet thats it. I never had a letter for my original appointment but maybe thats what you've just received and its crossed over with you being given the cancellation on the phone the other day.
Lorna, have you only had the one appointment so far at Walsall. The one you just mentioned at the weight
management clinic... is that when you were given the go ahead by Dr H for surgery.
Sam, Dr. H. and Ana were the only one's there for my appointment last week, but he did give me the go ahead for the
op
I only saw Ana and DR H as well hun, and he gave me the go ahead as well. I think the majority of people only see Ana and Dr H to be honest - its only a few that have got to see Mr Khan before surgery as far as I am aware.
Im fairly sure that this is just a duplicate appointment but the only thing that makes me think that it might not be, is that you were told that you would have to attend in approx 8 weeks and something about a cooling off time which Im not aware that anyone else has been told about...
I would definitely give them a call if I were you hun. Try not to worry though x
