you all sound lovely. Yes it has been a long journey which we all have to go on, still i'm there now but have got to admit am scared to death now its here. Did anybody feel the same?

In short, Janey, yes! Craftyfox went through some real angst and soul searching before he had his bypass a couple ofweeks ago. Seek out his name and read his fabulous blogs.. O burger, you can't until you have posted 50 messages.

I took part in a thread where fears were discussed. That was a while back. I'll see if I can find it and post a link on this thread.

Terri (tesmaralda) is a few days away from her 1st pre-op and is already getting very jittery.

Allie (Waynetta) is a couple of days away from her op, she may read this later and let you know how she feels.

I think it is a very natural thing to feel because we have none of us taken this decision or travelled the path thus far lightly. It is a life changing thing we are doing and thus I think it very natural for us to fears and even doubts right up to the 11th hour.

One thing that comes across loud and clear on this forum is though, most, if not all, do not regret having WLS.

Whatever, Janey, you are not alone!

So Janey, tell us a bit about your journey so far if you don't mind. We are a nosey bunch and keen to get to know you x

Its true sam its really uncomfy I didnt try a bra with out wire dont no if that would be better If you had seen me when I left the hospital I looked like I had been sleeping on a park bench no underwear my pj's still on and a cardi. Had to put my shoes on cause it was snowing

hehe thats how I left the hospital.... all my Bras are under wired they are very uncomfortable. It's the swelling and for a while your sorta hunched over.. I am 5ft 1 but for the past four weeks I'v been coming in at 4ft 11 on the Boots scales at beggars bush lol

I honestly think it will be your least of concerns once your post op.... By the way no knickers in theater lol

Terri, even I have to admit its quite funny. Of all the worries I have had about the op, not being able to wear a bra wasn't one of them. But now that Alexa and Teen have both said that they can't I'm going to have to make sure I'm well prepared.

I might have to build them a platform or something!! or perhaps get some scaffolding sorted. Angela's muslin idea is a good one, but I reckon I'll need quite a good length of it lol.

Im not really traumatised.... but not looking forward to it at all

sorry sam i was laughing more at the image that came into my head sorry :wave_cry:

You could try a sarong and hitch your bangers in that and tie it round your neck

That was kind of what I was getting at with the muslin idea.

Ah well, I'm off up the bathroom to dust the snow off me rooftop.

sorry Alexa... couldn't resist

well i have been overweight all my life and i currently weigh 450lbs plus. I have 2 children 25 and 19 and a lovely little grandson who i dearly want to see grow up. My first appointment to see dr khan was in august last year. i asked him for the band and he said it would be no good to me and suggested the bypass. My funding did not come through until November the 13th when i was then put on dr Khan.s list. And now its almost here 2 weeks sunday.

When will you be starting your pre-op diet Janey? Which one have you opted for?

I had a band it was no help for me... Mr Khan told me he's removing more than he's fitting....

You'l be fine with the bypass it will help you a lot more than what the band will/would....

Aww Janey, how old is your grandson?

And which pre op diet are you going to follow? Do you have to start it on Sunday?
