Weekly weigh in

No weight watchers this week as a bank holiday looking forward to a good drop next Monday as my scales are saying I've lost 3lbs but will wait to celebrate once I've weighed in next week.

Hiya
See you joined ww? I've just joined this week to try and rid that final stone...how are you finding it? Are you still focusing on plenty of protein and veg/salad? I do see it could be open to abuse as those 26points could be used on carb foods! Struggling to accept a crumpet is deemed as a good breakfast choice above cereal...!?!

It depends on the cereal :) High sugar cereals often aren't much good. Also, while a cereal may be higher in points, it will keep you fuller for longer than a crumpet so lower in points doesn't always mean better. I did weight watchers for donkeys years

I joined in December 2010, & stayed after my op in July 2011. I use it as a support group as the nearest wls one to me is in Poole 45+ mins away I've only made it to one wls meeting.
But back to ww. I don't point my foods still I aim for the protein levels & 1000 cals allowing for additional cals according to exercise levels. My breakfast every day is a dry-fried large egg, 2rashers of bacon fat removed also dry fried with a dry fried tomato & some dry fried mushrooms. This fills me up & then I have a piece of fruit at break time 11am, soup, or Tuna or meat on about 4 crackers with a ww or other yoghurt or fromage frais for lunch, with as high a protein tea followed by 100g total 0% Greek yoghurt with either fruit or fruit purée on it. Rounded off for the day with a large cup of milk before bed. This gives me an average of 60-70g protein a day & about 1200-1300 cals counteracted with 30mins on a static exercise bike plus the average 2.5 a 3.5miles of general walking each day to, from & around the school site & classrooms. I lose on average 1-3lbs a week at 9 mths out.
My leader is supportive but I was open about what I was having done from the first & all our evening group know to. Went to the morning session last week & someone was saying they wanted a band so the leader asked me to explain how I got on unsurprisingly the whole group was very passive aggressive in their attitude & not very friendly at all so I shan't do that again. Their reaction compared to our evening group was not nice but what I have expected to get at some point from the start. I'm just glad I've been open with our evening group & they are curious rather than aggressive in their attitude.

Good for you! I can understand what you mean about support groups, I am lucky in that I have an immense amount of support around me at home and at work, otherwise I'd be tempted to do the same.

Just got home from meeting a lovely lady new to this site whose due to have her op in Bournemouth soon. She a really lovely lady's whose been through a lot in her life & now has this chance to improve her health if nothing else thanks to this op & I hope it gives her the chance to fly & be free again.
Mind you I'm amazed I got out of the cafe & into my sons car & then my house the compliments she showered me with must have made my head a 100 times bigger it certainly did my ego a world of good, I just hope she remains as confident & happy as she seemed as we left.
It's so nice to share my experiences with someone & reassure them that this is a great opportunity for them, answer questions etc having had the same thing done over & over on here when I've needed support.

Another 1.5lbs down now down to 161.5lbs. A little closer to my target only 28.5lbs to go to my personal target. Will I make my target by my surgiversary I've got 11wks to go perhaps not but I'll give it a damn goo go.

Well done. You continue to be a wls superstar xx

Thanks Miss Tickle not a star really I was obese but perhaps not as big as I could have been & had lost over 2st pre-op with another 1st on the pre-op diet so whilst I've lost 105.5 overall so far I'm still behind from some of the best losers by a fair way. Having said that I am proud of what I've done so far & relatively quickly.

No Pen- which ever way you look at it you've done well. Your loss has been quick for a little 'un and you have stuck to the plan through all your family troubles with only a tiny bit of comfort eating. Fantastically well done xx

Thanks Miss Tickle I guess we are all tough judges of ourselves & it takes someone else to put things in perspective for us. Thanks.

Darn sneaky weight thrown half a pound back on grr that will teach me to lose focus, make wrong choices time to kick my butt back into gear if I'm ever to reach my goal let alone by July time is running out need to focus especially as exercise over the next few weeks will be sporadic due to the knee treatments.

Well this week I finally hit 100lbs loss since I started with weight watchers taking me to 160lbs or 11st 6 lbs in fact from my heaviest I am actually 107lbs down all told. Feeling crap despite this goal as I have a sore throat & headache I'll celebrate properly when I feel more human.

Thanks Chrisa here's hoping it dies t boomerang back on this week as has happened for the last couple of months.
Felt really rough this morning almost did t come to work first cold etc since op & it's upsetting my pouch at one point wasn't sure which was more urgent the need to sit on or hang over the loo as my stomach was heaving both ways thankfully it calmed down & I made it to work only tomorrow to get through as off friday for next knee treatment & kidney scan.

Well done Pen xx

Thanks ladies all I need now is something to stop the head cold, sore throat & the pain into my ears each time I swallow.
