Gastric Balloon Any ballooners out there? Support needed!

So - I had a night out with two friends. Not a SINGLE word on my weight loss. Not one. Seriously. I thought I would get some feedback as I haven't seen them in a while... I'm a bit disappointed, so I took a pic tonight when I got home and compared it to my insertion day... I don't look like a different person or anything, but it's such a long and arduous journey... Sometimes it's the comments from others that keep me going when all I want is a double cheeseburger. Anywho - since I made it, might as well post it, so here's a side-by-side of day 1 and 3 months and one week out. Onwards and downwards (or something like that)!

Jealousy is a nasty thing. You look great - very pretty :) xx

Thanks Nicola. Sometimes I don't think I could go through this without this forum. The support here is amazing and totally necessary. What an emotional roller coaster!

Thanks, Woody! I'm sure that there is an element of jealousy there, especially since they're both over weight. Oh well, I'm not going to cry over it. I feel better, I'm wearing clothes that I haven't worn in two years, and I'm making changes for me, not them.

Hope everyone has a fantastic week and loses!

Just left the dietitian - I've lost a smidge under 18 kilos total (39 lbs). My BMI started at 33.7 and now it's 28.0. I've lost 16.7% of my body weight. Not bad for three months :D I want to lose 6 more kilos by the end of April - then I'll be back to wedding weight on our anniversary!

Thanks ladies! Really proud of myself today :D Still wearing my suck-em-in underwear but looking better and feeling better. Just need to stay the course and keep doing what I'm doing.

Woody, how'd it go today, my friend?

You should be really proud of yourself

The nurse confirmed I've lost 34lbs and is happy with that. I have also lost 6% off my bmi. Dietician was really pleased she was a different one and seemed to really know where I was coming from. So really pleased with that. I'm due back in 2 months and they want me to lose another 20 kilos omg lol xxx

You can do it, Woody! It won't happen over night, but 20 Kg's is totally attainable. I need to lose 14 more. It's daunting if you look at the big picture. Just look at the next Kilo :)

It's all just part of the bigger picture. This is my next target. Once I have the balloon out I'm due surgery beginning of July so that will continue the journey. I'm wanting to lose as much as I can with the balloon to make the anaesthetic and operation safer xx

Morning guys, been so busy and just haven't had the time to come on, must catch up on the posts tonight, 11 weeks since my balloon, lost 9.5kg (21lbs), I'm able to eat more and pick more, but the eggy burps are disgusting, also get really bad diarrhea daily, anyone else have this, hows everyone doing?

Barbs! It's been forever! Great to hear about your losses! Great job! The eggy burps are bc you're eating foods that stick to your balloon and then go rotten sitting on there. Try eliminating some of your regular foods, that should help. Also, make sure you drink 15-20 min after eating to rinse your balloon. If normal water isn't working use some soda water as the bubbles will clean it well. Good to hear from you!

Hi barbs good to hear from you and well done on the weight loss. I do get bad burps but it depends on what I eat. Bread and pasta makes them worse. Diet tonic water seems to settle them for me. On the other issue I can't help as I'm the opposite lol. Sounds like you are intolerant of something you're eating. My weekly weigh in today shows I'm 36lbs down in 12 weeks. x. Hard to believe I'm halfway through x

It's a good target, and an attainable one! You have the right attitude! Surgery and anesthesia are no joke, the lighter you are, the better. I want to hit my target by the beginning of July, as do you, so let's be target buddies. I always do better when someone's holding me accountable! ;)

bc = because

My foods that stick/rot/cause burps are lettuce/mushrooms/rice/pasta. If I avoid these, no burps. Water is important to rinse the balloon and help you to feel full - keep hydrated!
