Thanks everyone! I'm quite pleased with my progress.

Has everyone had a good weekend? Eating clean? Exercising?

I've just had an hour of training and today is a fasting day (kill me). Away next weekend and need to be in a bathing suit so going to be extra diligent until we leave.

Well done Neisie! So impressed with your progress. What do you mean by fasting day? And I've booked my Balloon 1st March...nervous now! Gone for the 12 months one. X

Congrats on booking your balloon! Woo hoo! I have the 12 month balloon as well. Money well spent.

I'm doing 5:2, so two days a week at 500 calories. It sucks but needed to switch something up as I was plateauing.
 
Right still yo yoing around 2.5 stone so changed my diet again. Salads strangely didn't help weight loss so now dinners are consisting of soup. Today I've had porridge for brekkie, carrot and coriander soup for dinner, fruit smoothie for snack and a cup a soup and toast for tea. Already peeing for England lol so hopefully working xxx

Well done Neisie on sticking with the 5:2 I know I would struggle.

Thanks woody! Can I please ask how long ago you had your balloon? And how you've found it? Sorry guys if I'm being annoying /repetitive I'm just scared and very anxious! I appreciate all your responses xxx

No probs Banana. I had my balloon fitted on the 12th November. Initially I'm not going to lie it was very hard,I was vomiting continuously for the first few days and ended up with a traumatic laryngitis as the consultant wouldn't give me any sedation. I had mine done on the nhs. Mine is different to yours though I was loaded with 700 mls of fluid straight away and mine cannot get topped up. It's coming out the end of May and in having surgery hopefully July. Yours I believe they top up gradually so not as much of a shock to the system. Weight loss was rapid at first but has now slowed down. I now don't feel as nauseous but I do get smelly burps excessive wing and sometimes stomach cramps. Now I think I could over eat again and still have to be strict with myself. To be truthful not an easy journey but thinking of the bigger picture should be worth it. Hope I haven't scared you but you do deserve the truth and I'm sure with all your research you have picked up on these things anyway. Good luck with your journey xxx
 
Woody - join me on 5:2. It's not easy, but it's only one day every so often so it's possible. I fast on Monday and Weds. This week I did Sunday, too as we are going out for French food (cream and butter) on Thursday and a brunch on Friday before the concert. Food and booze fest. But, in the two weeks I've done it, I'm down 6 lbs. I have a friend who does Mon and Weds with me and working together makes it easier. She's lost 5 lbs in two weeks.

Banana - you'll be fine. I was scared, too. It was over in a flash. In the beginning there's a lot of puking but it gets better. I could over eat now but I know what is the right portion size. I've lost 40 lbs in 4 months and I'm thrilled with that. Exercise, for me, is a key part in weight loss and I do intense training (running, boxing, circuits) 4-5 times a week. My body hates to lose weight but I've stuck this out and the results are there. I'm so happy with how far I've come. You will be, too.

Sounds like you are all doing fine. I am now into my 2nd week and not been sick once....happy days. I too have slowed down with the weight loss but I think it's because I've been away and eaten too much rich foods. So I am back to being a bit more strict with myself. Can't see myself doing the 5:2 as I know I wouldn't continue and then would fall into the old trap of failing and putting weight back on. I now have a good grasp on what my body needs and I just have to knuckle down.
Well done banana for booking your balloon. I echo what has been already said. My first 2 weeks were fine then the sickness started and I've only just stopped. Had mine in the end of October and had 550mls in the balloon. Mines 6 months so due out end of April. I've lost nearly 3 stone and I am really happy. Ask as many questions as you like as the more prepared you are the easier it is.
 
Hi Neisie, ive just read most of your thread! i had the spatz 12 months adjustable balloon in Sydney on 5th Sept and similarly i posted to try and find some mates and found no one. i gave up posting as checking as forgot my password now thrilled to see other ballooners on. Here's my story....
moved to Sydney from UK 7 years ago, was always pretty slim then about 6 years ago started putting on weight. TOLD NOBODY and had balloon last year. Was horrendous to start with, ate nothing at all for 10 days as vomited even water, ended up in hospital and only lost 5kg was gutted! I started at 81.4 and then went to 70.6 last year in Dec. Already had a fill from 500 to 800. I allowed 300 more. I am basically a pig. I was really good to start with and now am back to eating too much, ie tub of ice cream in one go. I have horrendous, exploding diarrhoea most days. I exercise a lot but food is the problem.

I have just started with a personal trainer and a 1300 cals a day plan with 140 grams of daily intake being protein, not weight but proportion of food intake. This is the first day! not bad apart from some flapjack i just made and a hot cross bun. I think i am a sugar junky! but done over hour a half of exercise. i really need to get motivated as ive put back on 4 kg and i am really annoyed at myself. So where are you up to now? how much of a fill do you have now? I am thinking 5:2 as well as i was doing that up to early Jan and it really worked.

Love to create a dialogue with all you fellow ballooners! Excuse the life history - its nice to be honest as I feel like Ive been living a lie from my husband and everyone else!

feel guilty all the time and annoyed not lost the 15 kg i really want to lose, they said here 10-15kg max on the balloon? my mental state is still the problem, i haven't seen the nutrionist, Im motivated will set that up tomorrow and arrange a fill! love to hear from you girls! xx

looking forward to joining in and being a support team too.. its been a very lonely journey as not told a soul and i had mine done in Sept 2013, the 12 mth spatz adjustable....
 
and banana - I won''t lie I was terrible at the beginning, didn't eat any solid food at all, just energy drinks and water for 10 days! lost 5 kg mind, so not soo bad!! but hey we forget the pain! I lost 11.5kg in 3 months, put on 4 now so need to get back on and retrain my eating habits...
 
i was told dont eat 3 hours before bed, i can't really eat more than 150 grams of meat or loads of smelly burps, diarrhoea and heart burn!!
