Gastric Balloon Any ballooners out there? Support needed!

I don't get them too often, maybe once a month, but they are soooo embarrassing. My hubby was gagging this morning. However, every eggy burp is worth it - this morning I threw out all my size 18 and 20 knickers and replaced them with size 14's!
Trump away in those new knickers, just to break them in of course.

Hi everyone. It has been good reading this thread. I had my balloon 3 weeks ago and I'm struggling to know what to eat for my eve meal. I'm a veggie and would usually eat a very carb heavy meal but found out I have p.c.s.o so trying a low g.i meal but am very uninspired !! Any one else in the same boat ?? Xxx

Had a awful night sleep. Was awake from 3AM- 8AM kept retching as my stomach is empty I'm throwing up nothing. Very painful.
I'm going to start taking my meds today. I'm dying for a cuppa are we allowed to have one?

Btw ladies what causes your eggy burps? Is it dependent on what you eat? Or just random. I've got the wind which is a killer!

Well done on the new knickers and bras! Woohoo.

Hello Becci and welcome! Congrats on your balloon! I also struggle with PCOS and though I'm not a veggie now, I was one for 12 years, 9 of which was vegan. Be very, very careful of heavy/processed carbs and even more wary of soy. Tofu and tempeh are not what you want if you have PCOS. Are you lacto/ovo? For dinner a broccoli and egg scramble would be delish and loaded with protein. Try substituting your pasta and rice with quinoa and riced cauliflower. Best of luck and welcome to the forum. I couldn't go through this without my fellow ballooners on here :)

I hope so! I'm scheduled back to work for Thursday. So fingers crossed I get there. I'm starving I know that sounds silly but as I've been so sick I've got nothing to bring up. Yday I had mint water, water, vimto Ice lollie and more water all day. Literally gasping for a hot drink but not sure whether I'm allowed to. :-( xxx

I was pretty good on day 5. I was running a week after insertion. You'll be better before you know it. Go ahead and have tea, but just little sips off a teaspoon. You should have anti-sickness meds, take them. Your body is trying to expel the foreign item inside so the first few days suck.

Regarding the burps, I think it depends on the individual. I don't get them often, but when I do... Watch out! It's because there's food stuck on your balloon, rotting away and releasing gas. Yummy! If I eat carb-loaded cr@p, like pizza (oops, that was yesterday), I get the burps. Everyone has their own trigger foods.

So, just in from a check-up with my GP. He said I only need to lose a "few more kilos" which made me quite happy :) Also, I'm getting tests done tomorrow to see if I can go off these horse pills that I take for my PCOS. Fingers crossed! Hope everyone has an active and healthy day!

I couldn't drink tea for the first couple of months..... Made my sickness worse. There is no reason if you feel up to it to have one but drink it slowly. I was given build up soups which were stayed down ok.
My burps depends on what I eat and how much I've had to drink. Pasta was the culprit yesterday, but I really fancied it and suffered the consequences.

That's brilliant news. Fingers crossed re the meds xx

Hey guys, today I've had water, Ice lollie, flavoured ice cubee and 3tsp of Hartley sugar free jelly. Brought everything back up though. My chest feels painful from being sick. I've taken my anti - sickness medicine but I'm positive I've chucked it out again. Any suggestions please what to ? I'm drinking with a teaspoon as suggested.x

Not good banana. Are you leaving a gap between taking meds and drinking. Sometimes drinking with a spoon makes us swallow air too so that might be causing sickness. Take small sips ( teaspoon size). Have you tried some milk? I lived on milky drinks the 1st week. Everyone is different you just need to find the right things for you x

Just take it easy and keep your fluids up. You can last a long time without food but water is needed. They gave me anti-sickness suppositories so you can't throw them up. Maybe ask the doc for that? Just keep sipping, the barfing will stop in a day or two. Well, at least the consistent barfing; I think I've puked more in the last 4.5 months than the 34 years before combined :O Sip, sip, sip and rest. Next week you'll have a whole new view on life.

Banana I second milky things, I drank warm milk just small sips helped to line the stomach. I know it doesn't feel like it but the sickness will settle down xxx

Yes again on the milky drinks. I survived on those little Yakults. They helped with the acid and the probiotics help with the inevitable constipation.

Kismet I'm taking time in between water and meds. The minute I have water I feel uneasy and think I'm going throw up or do throw up. Nessie I've got Buccastem ( don't know how to spell) I stuck it under my gum to let it dissolve.
I've not tried milk or tea. Really want one but scared I'll be violently sick. I shall invest in the Yakults tomorrow do you all have red or blue tops? I'm going shopping tomorrow so is there anything else I should buy?
And regarding milk you are using skimmed? Thanks ladies I appreciate all your help and advice xx

I didn't take Yakut - can't stand the taste. Just drank semi- skimmed milk. I was prescribed build up soups and complan might be worth a try x

Buscopan isn't anti sickness, it's for stomach cramps. You need anti-sickness. In the beginning I did red Yakult to get some calories in and now I do blue. I've always drank skim or fat free milk. Hubby and I are milk lovers. Here's hoping that today is better!
