I don't think as many people fail with the twelve month balloon as the six month one so don't worry it will work for you as we are all here to support each other.

If you're being told to swallow it sounds like you won't be sedated. I feel sorry for you :( In regards to what you're reading and hearing, etc - You're on this forum with many people who've been quite successful with the balloon, myself included. I think if you go into this with a negative outlook you'll end up with a negative result. Be positive and listen to your body, your thoughts, and the positives of the balloon, not people who get a kick from fear mongering. You chose this route bc you know it can work for you, so stop reading negatives, stop listening to the naysayers, and pull up a seat to the losers table.

Totally understand you Nessie. I'm hoping to kick the flab once and for all. No one said it was easy. Yes no sedation. On my way home now. Feel slightly queasy just gotta keep mental attitude positive. X

Pain is unbearable though. Got period pains as well so double pain. Trust my body to have a mega period day of balloon insertion!! Will keep you posted & thanks a lot ladies. Xx

Just try to sleep. A few days of Hell to get you a body from Heaven :p

Love it. Lol. Trying to sleep but the alien is jumping around been sick twice please tell me I'll be able to sleep later?!

The first night was rough for me, I was in the hospital with a migraine. Night two was better but had to sleep propped up. You'll eventually pass out due to exhaustion or lack of nourishment! :D

It does get better but the 1st couple of nights my sleep was broken. I am better sleeping on my back if not on the left side as that's where your stomach is and the balloon will settle. xx

Oh ok hope I get some sleep soon. Can I ask how much you were filled up? I'm filled 500ml bit annoyed as I was told it would be 700ml but surgeon said no and did 500. Guess he must be right as he's the expert! Thanks so much for replying Neisie x

I think the max for a Spatz is 800, which is pushing the normal 700 max. I got 500 at origin, and a fill which brought me to 800. It'll be enough, don't worry.

Aw banana sorry you feeling rough I wasn't sedated either so was hard. I had to sleep either propped up or on my left side if I went laid flat or on my right side I threw up. Had a rough few first days but it was worth it. Small frequent sips of fluid don't try solids for a few days. Sending hugs

Was it sore swallowing it? I hope you feel better soon. Can I ask your height, weight and bmi? I'm 5 foot 7 and 15 stone bmi is 32.

Hi mama. I gained 5 stones in one year during my masters which saw me balloon to 19st. I'm 5ft 9.

Yes it was sore, very sore, my gag reflex was rejecting it and they like pushed it in. But don't worry about it you'll be fine. I'm a weakling and I got it done and was called a 'ideal patient' so you will be fine.

Thanks kismet - I slept on my back and managed to get a nap in. The only problem having is whenever I'm drinking water body is rejecting it and I'm throwing up all fluid intake. Is this normal? I think Neisie said it was in a pervious post. Just don't want to be dehydrated. As I'm only allowed liquids first 2 days then liquids following weak can you all please suggest what I can drink other than water, Ice lollies?

Stick with little sips of water. Sometimes warm water stays down better. Are you on anti sickness meds.

I had that ear patch behind my ear before procedure and was put on anti sickness drip. Was told not to take any until 10pm. Do I just take the buscopan, metolclopramide and lansporazole then? I'm not too sure ??
