Gastric Balloon Any ballooners out there? Support needed!

The very smallest of sips banana and wait about a minute between them.. It does get better but today your stomach is screaming what the h....?? So it's doing it's utmost to try and get rid of it. Jelly on the second day was bliss and my tummy accepted it much easier than water for some reason.

Thanks femfrankie. I will try jelly later on in the week. Right now I'm finding water too difficult to swallow throat is sore xx hope you are well xx
 
Got to admit all my meds except fast tabs took a backseat for two weeks as I just couldn't get them to stay down :( . It took a few weeks for me to lie down on my right side I just wanted to throw up every time I did. I think it all depends on the lie of the balloon. Is it fast tabs or the capsule form of lansoprazole you have been given hun?
 
I'm good hun thanks ... I can't hide the fact that the first week of the balloon was hellish and to be frank the immediate post op bypass paled in significance in comparison. Hopefully with the Spatz type balloon it will be easier for you fingers crossed;)
 
Brilliant so your bmi is 39 that's quiet low I'm glad we are both starting out similar. Looking forward to our journey. Do you think I'll be able to return to work within a couple of days of procedure?

I think you should probably prepare for five days tbh but then again you may be lucky & not require it. Is it the Spatz or Orbera you are getting mama?
 
I'm getting the Spatz and in flying over to Latvia on the fri and flying home on the Sunday could arrange for Monday off work but would like to return tue, it's not hard work that week as I'm travelling on a bus escorting special needs patients to and from units I'll be working 7am to 10am and then home until 2:30 before returning to collect clients and working until 5:30. So six hrs in total spread out over the day it's my easy week of the month, what you reckon?
 
Everybody is different mama but I know I certainly couldn't and I'm no woose either but hopefully with the Spatz type you may be better than I was with the Orbera type filled to the max ;)

Tablet form. Shall I start taking them? Feeling so queasy. X
 
Hey mama. I can't say tbh. When I was on way home in car it was difficult felt really air sick. Everyone is different. Hopefully you will be able to carry on as planned. Just be prepared to throw up a lot...then again you may be one of the lucky few who don't. I'll keep you posted over next couple of days xx
Frankie I have the spatz and mama is having that too as far as I know xx
 
Banana - I liked NAS apple juice mixed with water. As awful as it sounds, I don't mind throwing up apple juice. Use a teaspoon to drink. One little spoon each minute. It gets better, it really does. Just take little sips.

Mama - I did mine on a long weekend, was back to work after 4 days, no problems. However, we are all different, so you might be two days or two weeks.
 
Banana I found after a couple of days a very liquid home made fruit smoothie of milk banana pear frozen berries and fruit juice was bliss one bottle lasted me most of the day but felt like I was getting sustinence and all though I was still throwing up not as bad as with water.
Mama I had a really bad time of it but had the 6 month balloon and had 700 mls put in right from the start. I was throwing up for about 5 days and ended up with traumatic laryngitis. As I wasn't able to take hardly anything for first 2 weeks I was so weak and had to have 3 weeks off work. Don't want to scare you I'm sure my reaction was extreme from what I hear most people need anywhere from 2 -5 days off work

Poor thing...the bottom ones, however awful can be accepted, it's just one of those things but when you burp & it's the same smell it's just vile...it's a shame you have that horrid side effect :( poor thing! Really do feel for you on that one hun xx
 
I burped the whole six months & they come part and parcel of the balloon I'm afraid.. The flavour of those burps is usually decided on what we have eaten hours or in my case days before :eek:. I sounded like an old man first thing in the morning as I would sit on the edge of the bed and roar them out for a full five to ten minutes :eek: more embarrassingly was the ones that would sneak out mid conversation and I had absolutely no control over them :(
 
I don't get them too often, maybe once a month, but they are soooo embarrassing. My hubby was gagging this morning. However, every eggy burp is worth it - this morning I threw out all my size 18 and 20 knickers and replaced them with size 14's!
 
Snap I've had 24 hours of eggy burps too. Worse at night when I lie down. Tummy has been rock hard too. Finally gone soft now so pray that's the end for a bit. Went bra shopping yesterday and have gone from a 40dd to a 38c! Only got a few as may need smaller by the end of this journey. Can't believe I am looking at dates for my removal already.
