Gastric Balloon Any ballooners out there? Support needed!

Hey guys my name'a dan and I'm seriously considering getting the Spatz balloon to try and get over the hurdle I have with weight loss. I've tried so many diets over the last year even dropping my calorie intake to about 500 a day. I was wondering how much success everyone has had with this? I'm still looking but seriously considering if you know what I mean. Any advice and info is appreciated :)

Hi dan, know where you're coming from. I toyed with the idea of the balloon for about 6 months. This is the place that made my mind up to go for it. You get honest advice and loads of support on here. I've had mine for almost 4 months and I've lost 3 stone. It's not been an easy journey, lots of ups and downs with side effects. Do not think this is an easy option. It is a tool and you need to work with it to get the best results. Make sure you go with someone that gives you lots of support ( ie dietician, psychologist, nurse) as this is key to change how you see food.
I am sure the gang on here will give you more sound advice. Good luck and welcome
Kx

Thanks for the info kismet. I was reading up on the NOCS site about it but I'm now wondering does it matter that my bmi is well above 27? My bmi is 44 I don't really want to have surgery and I feel that given the help this could offer me I could use it to change my life but do they mean my bmi is too high?

Hi Dan
My bmi was in the 60's when I had mine fitted in November. Mine is the 6 mth one been put in prior to surgery.
As advised it's not an easy journey but can be worth it. Read this whole thread lots of advice on here. Ask any questions and we will help if we can.

Woody xx

Welcome, Dan. I started at a BMI of 34 and had the 12 month Spatz done. I've lost 3 stones and I'm very happy with the results. One more stone to go. If you need help or advice, we are here. I recommend reading this thread. It's honest and it will let you know what to expect. FemFrankie has an older balloon thread from last year when she had hers, I read every word - if I remember right, she lost 5 stones and then went on to get her bypass. It's a tool, not a magic balloon (oh, how I wish), but if you follow the rules you'll have great success.

So late! Neisie you look freaking amazing!
Welcome to everyone new and good luck on your journey! I'm on day 16 and feeling rough! Lol xx

Hi Nessie diaries sound perfect idea!! I'm on 2 day tomorrow.
Hi dam my bmi was 29 I lost 2 stone but more importantly the balloon helped me gain control !! I was a huge eater and I would make a joke of my portion sizes and laugh but I wasn't really happy. I'm proud to eat less now and say I'm full I would never have said that before! Good luck x

Sending some warmth to everyone in the UK :) We have about 2-3 more weeks before the extreme heat sets in. Trying to enjoy it while it lasts.

And the upside picture? Who knows.

Hi guys, how are we all doing? I've had a rotten week so far. Lots of sickness and upset tum. So have gone back to basics, milky drinks and soups. Managed to keep my scrambled egg down yesterday and feeling better today. Will keep it basic for a few days as off to Birmingham Friday for a weekend with friends. Fingers crossed this settles.
Have a good Wednesday
X

Sorry to hear you aren't well but going to liquids should help. We've all been there a million times :) Have a great weekend!
