I'm
A week post op today and ended up having a difficult time due to swelling in my stoma I believe. So was constantly vomiting so I was exhausted then and spent most the week in hospital I have been home for two days I feel actually amazing! I sleep solidly at night but do not allow myself to nap during the day. Need to start upping my activity that may make me more worn out!
How many days out are you?

Hi everyone,

I'm due to have my bypass on Thursday (21st) at the Luton and Dunstable hospital. I am really struggling now with my pre-op diet, milk diet :( it did it for 12 weeks last January no problem so not sure why 2 weeks is an issue now?!

Well done to all those on the losers bench already and fingers crossed the rest of us will join them soon

Xx

I start my pre op diet on 28th August eight low fat yogurts and a sachet of sugar free jelly a day plus bovril if I crave savoury I'm dreading it and since I got my date I seem to have no control over what eaters my mouth, I keep thinking well I won't be eating this after surgery! Good luck for Thursday :)

Yes it is, I know it's a mix of being lonely (my boys went to their Dads on Friday till Monday) and knowing I won't be able to eat like before again, which deep down I don't want to obviously but it's now the start of the realisation.

Wow that's good I found Pepsi Max the only thing to keep me going pre op diet.

I really do crave a fizzy drink now! Water and NAS squash is getting so boring!

Ive moved on to NAS vimto...they also do a still version premixed in a 500ml bottle so im taking these to work too, to make sure i keep drinking. I then just use the diluting stuff at home. Im drinking tea with no sugar and that probably my biggest miss as i usually take one sugar in tea.

So can we have ready made ribena light?

Is it no added sugar, I think it is, yes it's a still drink and I know the premade Vimto is 4 cals per 100ml. I'm not keen on ribena it's a bit bitter but the Vimto is good.

I think I may go and raid tesco for some drink carton ideas which will make going out easier!
Yes light one is no added sugar. I think im just missing flavours!!

Hi Lauren, I am sleeping ok ish at night, they think the liver problem means the anesthetic is staying longer in my body, so still very tired during the day. Making myself get up and do the odd job here and there and walking around the house quite pain free, not needed painkillers for the last 4 days or so. Only think I am finding hard to stomach is the forceval, even the smell makes me heave. Hoping to change to tablet form soon as put off taking this still knowing how important it is. x
