Evening all. You know I was thinking about things today as I was eating my lunch at work and I thought of this thread as something akin to the French Resistance...don't ask me why. I suppose all the anti band postings had really got to me. I will be the first one to hold my hand up and say I have my band not out of choice. But you know what, I am loving it.
Mr TB and I had a discussion as I was recovering from the op and the trauma and I was trying to find a way to come to terms with what had happened and I said I ought to name the band to make it become a part of me rather than something alien...and we ended up with...Colin
. Do not ask me why...
Anyway, Colin and I are getting to know each other more and more each day. It is like getting used to someone you become intimate with before you find out what they are really like - those out there who have kissed the frogs before they found the prince will know what I mean
. We are reaching an understanding and moving on slowly.
The reason for my ramble is because I really felt the difference today and am slowly appreciating the flexibility of the band. What I hear you cry...something positive about the band
. Yes, because if I ever get to a point where I feel it is not working for me - then I will get a fill (my provider willing and able). Or if I want to up the ante because it is not working hard enough - I get a fill. Now mine was fitted by the NHS and perhaps I am being naive, but as far as I am concerned in terms of after care, if I need a fill then I am going to have one. They can damn well fit it in when I need it - no ifs and buts. Perhaps we all need to take a stand on this be it private or NHS - why give you, or pay for a tool and then sit back if it is not doing the job. So if you paid private you get what you paid for or if you are NHS they fulfil their legal obligations to you to provide after care. If the provider does not deliver you complain until you get what you either paid for or are entitled to. If you sit back nothing will happen. And as responsible adults we can only blame ourselves....
Just throwing that one out - don't shoot me
.
Today I have had:
Actimel ( I always have the 0% fat variety)
1 cup of coffee
3 slices of ham and 3 light laughing cow cheese triangles ( I was running late and wanted a protein brekkie that was quick _ it was delicious about 175 cals or so)
Lunch was seafood sticks and salad and drizzles of low fat mayo and sweet chilli dipping sauce
Tonight I will be having home made rabbit casserole and veg. The casserole was done in the slow cooker.
Water - but not enough.
I went into the office today and not long got in so too tired to exercise. However I chose a different route to walk to the office. It was downhill there and uphill back. I was pleased as I was huffing and puffing by the time I had got to the tram station tonight and felt I had made an effort!
Apologies for the long and rambling thread but I want everyone to keep going and keep things as positive as we can.
We can do it!!!
